Title: google is messin with me! go figure
Post by: dalea on January 31, 2009, 09:02:04 AM
Sittin here with my laptop surfin my favorites gun sites. EVERY time I clicked on a firearms related website that I looked up on google I was directed ro a screen that says the website im trying to access has viruses and is not safe to open. Down Range radio, Gun Rights Radio , Glock Talk etc... all of them. Google sure is going after us now. Is there a search engine that is sorta gun friendly?

Do you mean you're using Google's Chrome as a web viewer?

I just now tried Chrome and had no problems.   I suspect it's not the viewer but your anti-virus software.   Have you changed the settings lately?   Do you have the problem with Firefox or with IE?

No Alf, it is the little piss-ant fascists at google - they just blocked me from Gunbroker and I am using Firefox 3.0. The warning message comes from a google.com url - http://www.google.com/interstitial?url=http://www.gunbroker.com/ (http://www.google.com/interstitial?url=http://www.gunbroker.com/). Somebody bombed the gun sites, just like bush was bombed when you put in the search phrase "massive failure" it directed you to President Bush's website. Someone has rigged the searches. Let's all bet on how long it will take the google fascists to fix this. I am guessing a week maybe?

Bastards!

Nuke 'em!!

I have never had this problem until this a.m.  Im using the latest version of Firefox, and a google toolbar. I guess that googles interpretation of the first ammendment is you can speak whatever you want as long as google aproves .

Problem seems to be fixed - I can get to gunbroker.com in both Firefox 3.0 and IE 7.0

the GFs seriously need to fix their search methodology to prevent this from happening ever again to anything or anyone. Lucianne.com (conservative news/community board site) got hacked, someone installed malware, and google blacklisted them because of the hack.

I do believe this is also against the law, or a bunch of laws. Gee, wonder if bho's FBI will investigate??????

I guess I don't understand what Google has to do with it.

If you type "www.gunbroker.com" into firefox  how do you end up with Google.  UNLESS.... you've installed some Google Toolbar or allow Google to be some sort of default search engine........BAD BAD.

I have no foreign toolbars on my browsers.   I don't want Google, Yahoo, or MSN knowing where I go or what I read.   I turn off all automated search engines.   If I mistype a domain name then all I get is a page load error from FireFox.   All those handy toolbars are just another form of spyware.    Go "natural".   Go with a naked browser.

The process continues with Credit Card purchase profiling. On FoxNews Sat. the major CC Companies will be following your purchase habits and "adjusting" your rate/limits on what you purchase...

Watch the ammo/ accessories buying with CC's. I'm sure if this proves to be true or a trend, some CC employee will punitively "adjust" those with gun/ammo/access. purchases.

There is a bill pending in the ND Legislature during this biennial session (that's right folks, our Leg. only meets once every 2 years and by law, for only 90 days or less!) that would prevent anyone from using a credit rating to set fees for businesses that credit is not normally an issue - like car insurance, homeowner's insurance and the like. A lot of businesses are up in arms at the proposed limitations, but it is a start. Other states should be looking into this as well.

When were we the ordinary citizen ever consulted, or allowed to vote on, this credit rating thing that has been allowed to control our lives? It is easy to be paranoid and think that a lot of the crap in the news is intentionally diversionary from the real damage that is being done to our freedoms.
