Another example of what gun control has done for the U.K.:

Not to mention he had two kids and was taking public transportation.  Never mind a gun, a car would have saved his life and some time.

Our betters don't want us in cars, or armed, they know better, that security cameras, and police who come to the scene after it is to late, are the way to go.

Notice the graffiti behind the spokesman.  Don't they have a removal program?  It should be one of the first steps to reducing crime.  I wonder what kind of knife was used?  My guess is a kitchen knife, but there's no talk of banning that kind of knife (like trying to ban 50BMG even though no crimes are committed with them).

Yes, they have tried to ban knives, but they quickly found that if they banned "dangerous" knives they wouldn't be able to cook or eat anything but gurel.

If I am ever President, it will be the little laws that I enforce with an Iron Fist. Smokers who toss their cigarette butts will be fined stiffly.

Funny you should mention cigarette butts.  I live in a college town full of "enlightened" college students.  I have actually had some one explaining to me how we need to "save the environment" while stomping out a ciggy and walking away.  I guess they are here to learn, but I question it sometimes.  :-\
