DURHAM – The Rev. Melvin Whitley says he has a unique idea to curb gun violence in North Carolina.
He's proposing a law that would require consumers to get a license to buy bullets. That would mean a background check before gun owners could acquire any ammunition.
"The purpose of good government is to pass laws that protect the public. And who in their right mind can defend criminals being able to have something that can kill people?" Whitley said.
He said he believes the measure would go a long way toward keeping Americans safe.
"This way, the only people with access to guns and bullets are law-abiding citizens," Whitley said.

Yes.

Yes, but it must be true. In this case it is.

Call it how you see it... Dumb ass. Ignorance is bliss...
-
You already have to have a license to buy the damn gun, unless you buy it from a private party and how are you going to control that.
Just because you have an idea, even if you are a man of the church, doesn't mean its good, and for God's sake don't go around telling everyone about your stupidity you dumb ass.

The operative word here is MAN.
This man was ordained a Reverend of a church. I can be ordained and be allowed to preach the gospel in all 50 states, regardless of my education or background.
Even the Pope is nothing more than a man, elected by his peers for the office to head the largest non-profit organization on earth.
All men are created equal and therefor can be dumb asses...so if the shoe fits, so be it....

Here, we have to have a license to buy from a private party. The transaction still has to have a licensed dealer as a go between and you still have to go through the 10-day wait.
I know that these laws aren't keeping guns out of BGs hands, so how will it be different with bullet licenses?

Being the CEO of a 501c3 corporation does not make a person a "man of God", he is a dumb ass.

To answer the OP:
YES.
Oh, felons that still use guns to commit crimes, get their girlfriends and other minions to go to Wally World, or gun shows and get ammo for them. All nice and legal....

Hell I'm an ordained minister!! I can marry or bury. All it took was a little time on the internet.

Words actually fail me. Other than a slow news day how was this even a story? I think I will ask the homeless folks in the park across the street how they feel the best way to curb pollution caused by volcanic ash. It will have roughly the same relevance and thought put into it.

Yes it is.
