Title: It's not just the Second Amendment Either,....
Post by: twyacht on February 03, 2009, 08:19:33 PM
Now that BHO has motivated the Democrats, regardless of pubic opinion, to an agenda we may not agree with, its not just the 2nd Amendment to worry about.

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

"It is customary for republican governments to be bound by constitutions, and this is grand idea. The question does arise, however, about what recourse the citizen has when the government disregards its own constitution, as is the case with our own Tenth Amendment. What do you do if your government does not obey its own laws? Our Declaration declaims that when governments do not observe the God-given rights of man, it is not only the right but the duty of the people to alter or abolish them. The Declaration of Independence may not be the supreme law of the land - which is the Constitution - but it frames our philosophy of government and serves as a guide for those who respect our traditions. More people should."

I think we all agree.   What I think is at balance how much future down the road towards socialism can this country go before insurrection occurs?    The 2nd amendment is the key stone.    Once it goes, whether in fact, or as has been happening, de-facto, the other amendments will be easier to ignore.

There are at least 90 million gun owners in the country, about 1/3 of the population. What percentage will just say BAAAAA, here are my guns, which way to the showers. More importantly, what percentage will give the one finger salute and act for their freedom and beliefs ? There is a big differance sometimes between whats "legal" and whats truly the "right thing".
