David Codrea notes on his blog waroguns that Cheaper Than Dirt is an "only ones" seller, apparently.
For those who are unaware, Codrea does a regular "only ones" bit on his blog, highlighting the hypocrisy of those who say that police and military are the "only ones" who should have guns.
He puts this link up at his site.

This is pretty standard hollowpoint ammo.
If Cheaper Than Dirt really does limit the sale of pretty typical handgun ammo to "Law Enforcement Only" then I've spent my very last dollar with them.
And I'm going to let them know about it, too.

+P+ is LEO only but +P is for everyone.

The plot thickens.
I got the following response from CTD via email.
Federal requires that we list it as for Law Enforcement only, but anyone can buy it from us.

First, I'm going to contact Federal and see if this is in fact their policy for their ammo sales.
Second, I'm just curious about handgun ammo being "LEO only."
If you handload at all, you can make +P+ yourself.
Plus, it just plain rankles me that certain ammo is declared "LEO only" apparently by Holy Writ, while mere civilian peasants like me are verboten.
It also rankles me that companies like Remington and Ruger have bolt-action rifles (you know, those ultra-modern, high-tech wonder weapons that actually load at the BREECH END!!!!!) that they have made "LEO only."
In fact, Ruger announced at SHOT 2009 that their super-secret, highspeed, low drag bolt action VLE was actually going to be allowed to be touched by grubby civilian peasant hands for the first time.
Oh well...
I'll let you know what Federal says.
