Signed up for the news letter. I'd like to see this get traction and happen.
-
Same here.
-
I too have signed up for the newsletter. If there is anyway I can go, I will. Hope to see you all there.
-
From the site it looks like the plan is for next year in the spring. Hopefully they do all the required planning and drumming up support. It would be dissappointing to see a turnout of 10K. If it gains traction I would go. I also signed up for their forum.

From their home page:
"Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. . . Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them." -- Thomas Paine, Thoughts On Defensive War, 1775

Long range planning helps....I just hope it's not too long range.

Proudly signed up ;D and will pass it on to others - Thanks for posting

I applaud their patriotism and I hope it sends a message as I hope the states that have issued notice to the Gov. do. But you will not see me there, I'm just paranoid enough to see bad karma coming down . I hope they march 10 million up there and its peaceful and goes off without a hitch.

Honestly, I'd rather see the NRA be organizing something like this. They can reach more people quickly, and why WOULDN'T they be doing something like this?
-
Skip from the Michigan organization that is putting this together is on the Tom Gresham radio show GUNTALK today. He mentioned that they changed the name of this march to the SECOND AMENDMENT MARCH. Hence the website has changed. They are working the kinks out after all of SIX DAYS and thousands of responses.

I think this is fantastic idea and I applaud the guns owners of Michigan for their innovation and motivation to start the ball rolling. I think we all feel our gun rights are imminently endangered, but I think I have to agree, taking the appropriate amount of time for the tremendous organizing this will take is very important. We will have a one time opportunity to make a positive impression to the entire nation or for that matter the world. As the swell of support increases, you will see the NRA, celebrities, businesses, various gun organizations, etc. throw their support behind this grass roots movement. Our biggest threat will be overall apathy from gun owners who will not make the effort to show their support. With over 80 million gun owners, a mere 1 million seems like a drop in the bucket!! As you may have guessed, I'm all in and look forward to the opportunity to show my support of the most glorious document ever written!!! ;D

This sounds very cool
wonder if you will get the responce we had back in 96
check out our scared PM

Prime Minister John Howard addressing a rally of firearms owners at Sale, Victoria, in June 1996 wearing a bullet proof vest. The imagery was devastating and many shooters were deeply insulted. In all the rallies conducted by them, involving more than a quarter of a million people in all, not once was an instance of violence recorded.

It might be a good idea to keep the NRA out of this. Ordinary citizens doing this without NRA involvement could send a more powerful message. And it doesn't allow the Libs to point a finger at "the thorn in their A$$" NRA. Harder for them to point a finger at us.

IMO they should be part of it, to help get the message out
and to help organise it as they have a Massive DB that they can mail / email this message as not everyone has the internet

Second Amendment March on DC: A coalition is being assembled to march on Washington to deliver to Congress, the president and even the U.S. Supreme Court a message that the Second Amendment is critical as the single right that allows Americans to ensure continuation of all of the others. The march is being spearheaded by the Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners, but also is being coordinated with the National Rifle Association, Gun Owners of American, Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownerships, Second Amendment Foundation, Virginia Citizens Defense League, Ohioans for Concealed Carry, Virginia Shooting Sports Association and others…

What I'd like to see is all the Wednesday personalities join together on this and all be on the same stage at one time. Tom Gresham, Michael Bane, Jim Scouten, Mark Keefe etc showing solidarity. I think that would make the trip worthwhile.
-
Tom Gresham is in, He said so on last sundays show. Gabe Suarez is not, thinks it a waste of time.

Has anyone tried getting on the website lately? I have tried on computers both at home and the office, and I get redirected to a search engine.

I get the same thing. I'll try it on Firefox when I get home and see if that makes a difference.

That is what I have at home, and at noon it wasn't working ... Please tell me it is up again.
I did try the e-mail, and got an automated response so that is working.

Yep, from the sounds of the newsletter, Skip is busier than a one-legged man in an ass-kickin' contest...... ;)
Hope this is a good sign that there is an overwhelming interest this early. I hope it keeps gaining momentum and rolling along.
