JUST SAW ONE OF THESE POCKET TYPE CLIPS MOUNTED ON THE REAR FRAME OF THE KEL TEC/RUGER LCP PISTOLS. LOOKS JUST LIKE A CLIP FOR A POCKET KNIFE. AWESOME IDEA FOR CARRYING THESE SMALL HANDGUNS. BUT IS IT LEGAL TO CARRY THIS WAY? I'M FROM OHIO, AND IF MY MEMORY SERVES ME CORRECTLY; MY CCW INSTRUCTOR SAID A HANDGUN HAD TO BE CARRIED IN A HOLSTER? I'M CONFUSED AS TO WHAT THE LEGAL DEFINITION FOR A HOLSTER MIGHT BE? ANY CCW INSTRUCTORS HELP ME WITH THIS ONE? THANKS.

I checked your State laws, you can do this online at
http://www.nraila.org/statelawpdfs/OHSL.pdf
My understanding would no you can not, but a local attorney would be better versed in this.

Take it off Caps Lock, buddy. ;D

I am from Ohio and YES you are required by LAW to carry in a holster when on your person.

SORRY ERIC, BUT THE TEXT IS EASIER FOR ME TO READ WHILE I TYPE. EYES ARE BAD.

Call a lawyer and ask him. You'll pay for but it's worth if it you absolutely must carry a clip on your gun.
Me personally, I consider the guns you're asking about to be specifically pocket guns and I wouldn't put them in a holster or on my belt with a clip. I'd put them in a pocket holster or safepacker (which can be in plain sight and still counts as concealment).

Here is the quote from the law,
A person who has been issued a concealed handgun
license or a temporary emergency license to carry a
concealed handgun may transport a loaded handgun in
a motor vehicle if the loaded handgun is:
• In a holster secured on the person
This quote only pertains to "in a vehicle but I would assume that it would apply to all carry.

Hey Coroner, lively sign on you got there.
There are plenty of options for "mousegun holsters"
http://mouseguns.com/holsters.htm
Long list of types and styles for IWB or pocket.
I have a Kel-Tec P3AT with the belt "clip" ::), its great in light attire, but many other options are available.

Here in Colorado, the belt clip is what several of my buddies use when its gets in the 100's here in summer. I carry a mouse gun infrequently, would rather be uncomfortable and have my .45, or my model 85, but to each his own.
Is 10 rounds of .32 better than nothing? I think so.

I carry my Ruger LCP in a De Santis "Nemesis" I got thru Dillon and I don't know it is in my pocket nor does anyone else. It takes a little practice to get a smooth draw but not much.

i already have the nemesis also. i like it, but as you said, smooth drawing can be difficult. i also have an uncle mike's belt clip holster, and an ankle holster for the lcp. the kel tec/lcp gun clip is an inside the waist/pant clip, not for open carry, as some other posts have suggested. thanks for everyone's posts, i'll check with my attorney, but i'm thinking that the clip alone attached to the gun is not legal here in ohio. thanks again.

it was a toss up between the coroner or toetagger. just havin fun. but that is what i call my .45...i get the feeling that someone would have to call the coroner if it was used in self defense. ;) thanks for posting.

I carry my LCP in a DeSantis Insider IWB at 4 o'clock. In the summer with a t-shirt on...no one knows its there.
