ANYBODY HAVE THE JIT BELT SLIDE HOLSTER? COMMENTS APPRECIATED. I WANT TO CARRY THIS GUN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. THE JIT BELT SLIDE HOLSTER IS SUPPOSE TO FIT TIGHTER TO THE BODY THEN CONVENTIONAL HOLSTERS, AND IS MORE TACTICALLY AVAILABLE AS THE MODEL SPECIFIC LEATHER HOLSTER DOES NOT HAVE RETENTION STRAPS; BUT FITS THE MODEL SECURELY AND SAFELY. I THINK THEY ARE MADE BY DON HUME? THE RELIABILITY OF THIS GUN IS AWESOME! IT'S ALITTLE BEEFY FOR CCW TYPICALLY; BUT I LOVE IT!

It is a holster style you will like. I DOES hold the pistol securely. One thing you MAY not like is that the trailing belt sloty
will pull the grip frame into your body. Normally, this is what you want, however, it will also pull the front of the holster out from your belt slightly, and may "bump" into things. If you carry at "4 0'clock" or a little further back, this is overcome somewhat.
Either way....Hume makes a good holster at a good price.

Also try www.fist-inc.com
They have a huge selection. You might like something they make.
I'm awaiting my first purchase from them.

I use that exact holster with a full size 1911. It works best for me on my side with a belt loop between the holsters slots, it holds the grip a little closer that way. I also use a fairly thick belt with it. It does however hold the gun low on my waist so I wear a reasonably long jacket jacket to cover the gun. The gun stays in secure enough for most activities and it makes for a quick draw. It gets a little looser by the end of the day, but it is still secure. I also have a Ruger P90 .45, I rarely carried it, but when I did the only holsters that seemed to hide it well were in the pants types. I have a nice Galco paddel for it, but the Rugers are so chubby that you need to wear a winter coat unless it is in the waistband. On the plus side they work great mine has been very reliable, shoots fine with everything I ever fed it.

Just remembered after my first post that I have a JIT Slide for my 642...works great and tucks everything in close. As I said, I can't pocket carry the 642 in jeans. hope to get some cargos to carry it.

I have one for my 1911 Commander, it's a little lighter gun than an all steel gun but the holster fits the gun perfectly and the holster is very light. Makes for a good summer holster for a full size pistol. I use a full holster in the winter months from High Noon.
I also have a HEAVY leather 5.11 tactical belt in 1-1/2" width. It makes all the difference in the world to have a belt that is designed for carrying a firearm.
Some belts can get a little pricey, the holster was about 25 bucks. It slides real easy so I wear behind the hip when I'm only wearing a t-shirt and at the hip when I have a heavier coat on.
For 25 bucks, it's a great bargain and it works well.

yeah, I know what ya mean by the chubby gun. But I love it. I wish it weren't so big and heavy. But as you said, "shoots fine with everything I ever fed it."
thanks for the reply on the holster. i figure i'll have to wear it alittle to the rear of my hip, just in front of my rear pocket.
