The new State of the Art Polymer 1911 from Wilson Combat needs your help, it needs a name. Take a look and let us know what you think would be a good name for the newest member of the Wilson CombatĀ® Family of handcrafted custom pistols. So from now until the 1st day in June, 2009 you have the opportunity to name the next Wilson CombatĀ® Custom Polymer pistol.

don't know if this would work for a gun's name but howabout "judge".

Sorry, Taurus already beat you to it.......... ;D.
-
ah man that is gay but how about "zeuss". (hopefully that name hasn't been taken)
-
I submitted "Change". Change you can count on.
-
My suggestion was "Raider" I hated Oakland, But it IS black Polymer and stainless steel ;D
-
This should be the winner....I hope.
The Wilson Spirit...thought of as showing or having some specific quality...vivacity, courage, vigor, enthusiasm...essential or characteristic quality
-
The Wilson Combat 9mm "NEMESIS".
The wife went with the "INTREPID".
;)
-
I really liked "Glock-eater"...but I figured there might be some "infringement" issues. So I went with "The Shadow" 8)
-
Ragnarok "Doom of the gods" last mythical battle in Norse mythology.
-
I'll let you know how it shoots when they ship it. ;D
-
I think I have 11 "11's" at the moment, so am saying purely with admiration that after two more years we should consider not using "state of the art" and "1911" in the same sentence. Excuse me, I have to get back to the dillon while I think up names.

Submitted:
Samurai
Katana
Look at the grips - rising sun.

"New Centurian"
I can feel my new Wilson even now.
:)

Sorry folks. But after applying the old brain cells to this, I will be taking home the "gold"....so to speak.
Think about it. The 1911 is an old designed. Worked over hundreds of times. Many iterations. But only one fly's above all the rest, rising above its beginnings.
[deep announcer voice] And now as the 2009 NRA Annual Meeting opens, Wilson Combat is proud to present,
PHOENIX
[/deep announcer voice] [/contest]

Nobody but me will be winning the new "Wilson Combat Rogue"
How much more Rogue can you get than building a 1911 out of plastic? ;)
-
Introducing JMBROIHG - John Moses Browning Rolling Over In His Grave.
-
I'd call it the Wilson OBAMA.
1) It may be new and untested but people will still buy it.
2) Should be easy to get movie placements.
3) Plastic frame? Change we can believe in!
4) After the number of guns the guys sold, the industry should show a little love.
5)Screw Eddie the Eagle! This is how we get youth involved in shooting.
6)It will appeal to the African American home defense market. (This isn't a joke btw, the pro-gun movement really does need to do a better job of outreach).
7) Finally every gun owner in America will buy one just to piss the Anti's off.
Email me on how you're shipping my pistol

Wilson Combat's "American"
Waffenalaskan
-
Condor. The grip design with their logo design on it. That's what came to mind.
-
I went with advocate, because it is always on your side. ;D
-
Road Hog feels that the name "Liberator" is the appropriate name for this new addition. Polymer moves away from the triaditional 1911 technology and therefore liberates the weapon from the historical perspective to a new era of weapon's technology.
The name "Liberator" sells itself. No really!! ;D ::)
(Now you have had your BS ration for the day.)
-
I suggested "Gadsden" after the Gadsden Flag:

Kind of contrived, no? I'd figured if they were going to force a name, they'd go with, 'NINE-teen Eleven.' Where you got to yell the 'NINE' so you know its a 9mm. I'm surprised they would try to sell the 9mm before the the 1911. Oh well, looks like a good pistol, anyone got two grand I can borrow and never pay back? ;D
-
Which Special Operations Unit uses 9mm?
-
Well crap, I didn't win.
I know. I'm still bummed.
Spec-Ops..........come on. I read several better names from DRTV members

Just posted on The Shooting Wire
Wilson Combat Names "No-Name" Pistol
Wilson Combat is proud to add the "SPEC OPS 9" to their family of custom pistols. And in recognition for having suggested the name, Douglas Ervin will receive his very own Wilson Combat SPEC OPS 9.
The new 29.8 oz polymer 1911 sports a 4.5" barrel with 16 + 1 rounds of 9mm on board.
Wilson officials say the response was "overwhelming" and they could not believe how many suggestions were received.
Congratulations to Douglas Ervin who suggested "Spec Ops" and is our winner. Turns out Mr. Ervin is a fan and will now have his very own Wilson Combat Pistol to take to the range and get to brag not only about his new Wilson Pistol, but that he picked the name of our newest pistol.
The SPEC-M-9 has a retail price of $1995.00
