I saw this shotgun at Gander Mountain today and fell in love with it, Does anyone know if there is an extended magazine tube available for the 835 series Shotguns?

I don't know if there is a extended mag tube for the 835 ULTI-MAG. I have a 835 without the tacital configuration and I love it. I would have got the TAC model if they made one when I got mine. :(

Tactical turkey........Is that for when the whole flock attacks ;D ;D

Did you ever see the spurs on those guys? ???

Just think...if it was all Black instead of camo it would be considered an assault weapon :o :o rather than a state of the art hunting firearm ::) ::)
-
That's funny.... I've taken a few turks with my 835 and lots of waterfowl, but I who knows what I could have done if the gun had looked that cool! ::)

I'm still waiting to see the armed and armored "Tactical Turkeys"

You climb defence, ya need defense! (sorry, way too many years of English)... ;D

Looks pretty slick, but for my money I would opt for one of these:
http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/shotguns/model_870/model_870_express_ShurShot_synthetic_cantilever.asp
Slap on an Eotech/Aimpoint/Red Dot and load up with some 3" slugs and you would have a ridiculously awesome platform...
-
Heck, buy a $300 stock 870 and let Bill Wilson at W. Combat trick it out for another grand or so...
-
Scattergun Technologies is like the Holy Grail of tactical 870's, but that gets expensive...

Parden the pund, but is that killing two birds with one stone? ;D

No offence, but $800 plus dollars for an 870 without choke tubes???? I mean, it looks cool, but has anyone fired a folding stock with 3 1/2 mags? I can't imagine its fun. Plus, how does it work with shouldering for wing shooting, because I don't know about ya'll but I plan on shooting a lot more ducks than BGs. I'd like to read a review on this thing, but it looks like "tacti-cool" marketing BS. Just like putting the word "marine" in front of something means you can double the price, the same is true of "tactical". ($100 flashlights anyone)? It seems like you could save a lot of green on a stock 870, buy extra tubes and have a more versitile gun that doesn't scare the neighbors, is more fun to shoot and is just as good at home defence. Oh, and you won't lose it if you set it down to heed the call, what with the cammo and all. (Does this make me an old fart)? PS how do I get the nifty little emoticons to drag and drop to the text, I can't figure it out. (Question answered, defintely an old fart).
YOU KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN!

Just responding to my last post. I inadvertantly, quoted the "tactical" turkey (does this include Donald Rumsfeld?) at $800 when I meant to type $500. Once again, the old fart question has been aske and answered.
ARE YOU STILL ON MY LAWN??? ;D

I haven't found any 3 1/2" mag guns that were fun too shoot! It looks like it has a nice rubber butt plate. I don't think that it would be any worse then a standard stock. 870's are wonderfull guns. Never fail, easy too use but I hate the safety on the trigger guard. The 835 has the safety on top, I like that much better.
-
I believe Choate makes extension tubes for the 835. Midwayusa lists them on Pg 575 of their catalog (2 & 3 rd extensions.)
-
CCD Thanks for the info I'll check out Midway if I end up buying one of these.

Rather have that doe

And we wonder why the tree huggers are so bent against hunters? Tactical turkey? Must be one fierce critter? I would rather switch from tactical to practical when it comes to blasting buzzards and save some coin.

No, you have it backwards. It is to tell the DA that it was your turkey gun that you used when you heard the intruder break the patio door, NOT an evil black gun.

Welcome to the forums, I LIKE the way you think ;D
-
This was a horrible attempt at humor on my part and I do agree that this is a wonderful weapon and I would love to own one.
PS: I love my evil black guns.
-
I like it because it's overwrought and cool, and you never know about turkeys...
BTW, I got "cured" of extension-tube-itis by Bill Murphy in a shotgun class at GUNSITE. If you had en extension tube on your shotgun, you had to keep it fully stoked all the time. After a couple of days of that, it was sort of like having a brackbat taped to the barrel, and a lot of 8 and 10 round tubes started disappearing from the guns.
I've got tubes on my Vang Comp 870 (which I believe is the ne plus ultra of fighting shotguns) and the FNH USA self-loader, but I'm more concerned with loading them quickly rather than the tubes. That is, BTW, where cowboy action shooting comes in...learn how to single-load a pump gun and top off the tube in lulls.
Also BTW, I hear the Tactical Turkey guns are selling at a SPECTACULAR rate...lots of people facing hordes of armored turkeys, apparently...

Does 'Gobbles the Turkey' stand a chance?
Yes, it's a South Park quip.
My son uses his 870 Express for all occasions, from 'Dive-bombing Doves' to 'Tactical Turkeys' with choke tube changes.
He even takes out the occasional 'Surface-to-Air Skeets'.
The 835 is a fine gun also. Neighbor has one and likes it a lot.

What any discerning hunter will be driving this turkey season:

Pistol grip stocks on shot guns add noticable weight & take a lot of getting used to in my experience (They just feel WEIRD). Supposed to make it easier to shoot from a sitting position though.

JACKSON, Mich. - Wild turkeys are turning into bullies in one Michigan town.
Tri-County International Trucks employee Dave Dodes told the Jackson Citizen Patriot that three of the birds scared a truck driver so much he stayed in his vehicle when he stopped at the truck service shop Friday.
He said a company worker had to create a diversion so the driver could escape, and the turkeys chased both men inside the building in an industrial area at the edge of Jackson, Mich.
Dodes says the birds had been seen near the building for a long time but only recently turned aggressive.
He says "they're not afraid of traffic, and now they chase people around."
Jackson is about 65 miles west of Detroit.

Once the location of the largest walled prison in the world.....lovely place.... :P

Yeah, short ride for the boys downtown to their new home. Jacksons also the source of some HUGE white tail deer though!
People trapped in their cars by turkeys... I'm totally ashamed to live in this state anymore!

I am reminded of the story of the turkey that killed a guy.
In the 1990s, I lived in Ripley West Virginia, right next to the interstate.
I became aware of a massive accident on the 4 lane involving a crashed 18-wheeler with a trailer full or rolled aluminum.
It seems the trucker was be bopping down the interstate with the window down when a turkey flew across I-77, right through his window and hit him, causing him to lose control, crash and die.
What can I say, them turkeys is trouble.

A suicide run into an 18 wheeler, now THAT is a tactical turkey! Did he yell Allah Akbar! before before he hit? ;D

Folks, it just keeps on getting more dangerous out there. I officially retract all negative comments posted about this gun. In fact, I intend to go to Gander Mt. today and buy two. First it was sucicide bombing turkeys, now turkey vultures. Al Queada has found its new weapon. Be prepared!
fightingquaker13
State police say a turkey vulture injured a passenger when it crashed through a minivan's windshield Friday.
The bird crashed into a red Dodge Caravan at about 8:15 a.m. on Interstate 80 in Parsippany. It whopped 32-year-old Vanessa Hurtado in the face, causing minor cuts. Shards of glass got caught in her eye.
The turkey vulture landed in the middle seat behind the driver, 35-year-old Jorge Hurtado, who wasn't hurt. He told police that the bird was alive for a brief time following the crash; the responding officer pronounced the animal dead at the scene.
Eagle Towing (no pun intended) towed the vehicle away. Vanessa Hurtado first asked that the vulture be removed from the car, lest it marinate in the heat.
Turkey vultures, which are not related to turkeys, generally soar in circles on wind currents and are often seen on highway shoulders eating road kill.
This isn't the first time a turkey vulture has left its mark on a New Jerseyan. In June 2004, one hit a motorcyclist in the head. While attempting to get the live bird off of him, the man lost control and struck another car. He died of his injuries.

Just a quick history lesson but Ben Franklin wanted to use the turkey on US currency but they changed it to the bald eagle. ;)
This is some gee whiz info I saw on the History Channel. Had to share. ;D

Maybe it's because Bald Eagles taste like shite (I wouldn't know) and you wouldn't want to eat the National Symbol of Freedom, even once a year! ;D
