I have always been a big fan of Fobus holsters. I recently bought one for a Glock 19. When I put the gun in it was so tight I almost couldn't get it out. I heated it up with a torch and holstered and un-holtered it while it cooled, that loosened it up. After I finished I thought I probably should have heated it in the oven on a low temp, but the torch worked. I was woundering if any one else has had a problem.

Been a Fobus user for many moons, and have never seen one that tight. I would probably call Fobus first to make sure the torch or oven heat doesn't somehow screw up the tension of the polymer.

Picked up a Fobus for the wife's gun. Fits rather snug. Would not have purchased it if Blackhawk had a Serpa Holster for it. Just my personal opinion. Hope you get it figured out.

I have a couple for Glocks. They are usually tight in the beginning. The more you slide them in and out ... more they loosen up some. But, be careful.. if you just slide it in over and over repeatedly.. look at you gun b/c sometimes it can start scratching or marking it up a little.. and if u start to notice it.. and keep on it will then scratch it.. or can sometimes. Some people wrap their gun in various things.. saranwrap..thin shirt pieces ..etc .. then cram the wrapped gun (unloaded of course) into the holster and let it set overnight etc. This often times helps.. if you can get the wrapped gun in there.. same applies to leather holsters too. Some people also.. trim slightly some of the edges of parts of the holster.. this can help sometimes..but not usually.. and it can ruin the looks of the holster if you trim too much. I usually just break them in ..with use..// Other thing is it the stand fobus or the newer fobus.. evolution series.. they aren't as bad and have a screw adjustment. They, don't "bind" as much to start with. And in the future..I'd go with those kind. So, far though all my fobus'es have been a good value and tough.

Wouldn't the holster break in just by leaving the pistol in it?

I left it in a couple of days, still couldn't hardly get it out. Where it was tight was around the trigger gaurd. Thats the only place I heated it up at. Now its fine.

That's good to know. I think I would try a hair dryer (if I owned one) or a heat gun instead of a torch.

Ya, I was pissed and didn't think real hard about it. After I did it I remembered reading about heating Plastics and Kydex up in a oven to make them more plyable.
