Title: Congress Butt Chewing
Post by: Teresa Heilevang on March 01, 2009, 01:55:21 AM
Congressman Don Manzullo grills Interim Assistant Treasury Secretary Neel Kashkari on the bailout plan, questioning why a failed company that was bailed out with taxpayer dollars -- AIG -- was allowed to give a $3 million bonus to an executive.

I have never heard ANYONE (Republican or Democrat) talk like this to another person like Senator Manzullo from Illinois---this is the way it should be---this is what we expect from our Congressman.
FINALLY! Someone who speaks aloud what most of us are feeling.

Anyone else want to slap that smug little jerk, Neel Kashkari??

Folks pay income tax on their unemployment benefits which means that, in their distressed situation, they have to chip in for that bonus.

Folks need to be talking to their representatives like Congressman Don Manzullo did to Kashkari.  Ask them the hard questions and demand straight answers.  And let them know that if they don't provide them, it is time for them to step aside.

Of course folks who do demand that kind of responsibility from their representatives likely end up on someone's subversive watch list.

You would wear your arm out - first, he is just that smug. Plus, DC is rife with these self-important, well-connected smug little jerks, accountable to no one other than their gummint masters. They too need a good slapping. Or tar and featherng.

Subversive list - that's a small price to pay. Besides, you're not already on one? ? ? ?

It's probably a good thing that "dueling" with pistols at dawn was banned back in the early 1800's....

There would be many "less" of these bureaucratic weasels around......

First Neel Kashkari dodges the bonus question.
Next Neel Kashkari says $3,000,000 is too much bonus for a failed business in a manner to further the dodge.
Then Neel Kashkari plays it dumb, dodges whether he should get the money back by asking what it is the congressman means, $125 billion or $3 million in money to be returned to obfuscate and change the subject when obviously the only focus has been the $3 million.
Then Neel Kashkari dodges further and pleads being precise when what he precisely means is that what he wants to do is dodge the question.
Then at the end we see that Neel Kashkari, from his facial expression, is offended....poor mistreated thing....how dare we attempt to question him.

My Conclusion:  It sucks to be us under this administration.

He learned that from "the Messiah".
