Title: Texas Gun Owners and View Points
Post by: bikerfella1982 on March 04, 2009, 07:50:54 PM
I think I wanted to start this topic off with just an easy topic to discuss.

Q: What do you think about Texas' gun laws?

Q: What other state laws do you think we could/should adapt into our own laws?

Q: Where do you think Texas could improve as far as gun laws?

Q: Would open carry be a good thing state wide, or selective areas based on population?

Id like to "hear" what all the Texas people have to say about this.

I think they're better then them foreign states, but there is still plenty of room for improvement.  Governor Perry has done alot to protect and restore our constitutional rights.

We ought to have the option to open carry, other states have it and people don't go a shoot each other like crazy.  Sure some folks may be uncomfortable at first with it, but it's our God given right.

Fix the CHL laws, so you can get your CHL without the 10 hour class and federal checks.  We ought to get rid of target rich environments know as "Gun Free Zones"

Open carry would be great, more rural and north Texas folks probably wouldn't be to uncomfortable with the idea.  I live in hippy town and we've got a lot of state foreigners that don't understand what true Texans are like and would take some getting use to the idea of people carrying guns in plain state.

But over all the greatest state in the world has seen an improvement in gun laws, I think.

 1) Texas gun laws are too strict.
2) You should adopt NH's gun laws
3) Unrestricted open carry, Concealed carry allowed any where except Courts and Federal buildings, If you Must have CCW permit it should be fill out the paper pay $10 and get it in 14 days.
4) open carry , if it MUST be regulated should be reserved for high population areas where most crime occurs.
