I have a simple question, are 10mm glocks any good as a trailguns?
-
depends on where you live. They are not legal to use for hunting in all states/ areas.
I will say shooting a full power 10 mm from a glock is a beast compared to several other "metal guns"( 3 gen smiths, DE, wheel guns etc)

I'm with Tab on this. They're lauded as the most durable of the 10mm guns, but they take a little getting used to. One of my friends swears by his and it is the gun that he wears when he works at the range. He has hunted with it. Great mountain lion vaccine. I've always wanted one, but current employment as it is, I'll have to wait until I can afford the ammo.

The compensated 20C would be my choice if I was getting a 10mm Glock. I think it would be a good gun.
-
I have an old 2nd Gen G20 with about a half-a-zillion rounds thorugh it. I actully find it more pleasant to shoot than my old Colt Delta Elite or my EAA Witness in 10mm. The polymer seems to absorb the recoil of the 10mm better than even the Witness, which weighs a ton and a half.

Heard Ted Nugent talking about using one for a back up shot on a Cape Buffalo.

Not legal anywhere in Africa... Then again Teddy is a nut and does not care about laws, he does what he wants.

Why is it not legal anywhere in Africa?

OK...and what particular laws. I think it is important because that is a very general statement; I believe he does in fact care about laws and being law abiding. Which particular laws do you speak of when you mention he does what he wants without regard to the law?

It's TAB, he doesn't need facts.

Got to love the Nuge.

All of the goverment( as in over seen by the goverment, not directly ran by them) run hunting programs have strick limits on what you can and can not use. 375 H&H is the lowest "power"( they based them on calibur and ft lbs) they will let you use for cape... There was a time in my life when I wanted to hunt africa, I spent months researching it. Then desided I'd rather start a biz with the money.

Listen to it yourself 03 - 01 part "C"

He said he was backing up the actual shooter.
-
Does your BUG have to be at least a .375 H&H?
-
Every where I looked into going you were not allowed to have a BUG.( infact they all have very tough import laws for firearms and ammo.) now maybe some of the lesser known countrys might, let you have a BUG.
-
On dangerous game a back up SHOOTER is MANDATORY. Can't have the paying customers getting chomped now, eh what. Doesn't leave a good impression on the wogs you know.
-
yeah, you have a back up shooter, no question. If not two or three of them.

I own a Glock 20 10mm. Full house loads are not uncomfortable to shoot. Actually it is one of the most pleasant 10mm's I have shot. The recoil is more managable than some heavier steel frame guns due to the forgiving nature of the polymer frame and also the width of the grip. A colt Delta hurts my hand more than my Glock with full house loads even though the Colt is heavier. I think it is due to the smaller contact patch on your hand with the more narrow grip. Also full house 10mm loads are better than .357 magnums. Look at the offerings Double Tap ammo has they are smoking hot and have been tested in a stock Glock.

Got the Kimber 1911 in 10MM. It's much like the .357 loads in my revolvers. You can really tell the difference in power when shooting steel with the 10MM and full power loads.
So...what do ya'll think a Bren 10 is worth in really good shape?

What ever the seller can ask ?

The Bren ten the late Col. Cooper helped design was a powerful handgun for its day. But the gun was based on early Cz designs and now Eaa makes the same type if gun. The hunter and elite models are badass and the mags work great, something the Bren ten failed at. 10mm' s really need more fans. As for price, be careful i have seen fake tens out here. :P

While I'm a Glock fan, the S&W 610, or 310 Night Guard may be a good way to get into 10mm. When you can't find 10mm ammo, you can use .40 S&W in the revolver.

"are 10mm glocks any good as a trailguns?"
It depends on which trail. Anywhere in the continental United States it's a good choice.
What are your options? .357 mag, .41 mag, .44 mag but weight and capacity make them less desireble than the m29. With that Glock you have 10 rounds in the gun and 15 rounds in a m20 magazine as a back-up. The ballistics tell a good tale with the 180 and 200 grain offerings. Total weight is less than a revolver and its size allows more carry options. There's really nothing not to like.
-
I really love my Glock G29+G20. The 10mm is a great round which is legal and effective to hunt with in NH. That being said I prefer the 10mm for sd. Other than cost of ammo, I can't believe its not that popular. There must be a lot of limp wristed shooters out there

Thanks for the input, its good to know people like the 10mm as much i do. I'm looking into the S&W nightgaurd 610 it has all the features I like in a gun. Its light powerful and its a S&W what more do I want. Also no limp wrist need apply.
