Post by: Road Hog on March 05, 2009, 11:26:05 PM
I missed the first seven shows before I knew it was on TV.

When will these first seven be shown again so I can catch up? ::)

Yesterday morning I read this thread and checked to see if I had the Outdoor channel.  I didin't.  Two minutes on the phone with my cable company and I was a subscriber.  I love technology and I look forward to April 1st for the first rerun of Best Defense.

Thank God for Tivo. My baby girl keeps me preoccupied in the evenings after work. While she is napping it affords time for my wife and I to get caught up on the Wednesday Gun Shows.

I was thinking the same thing, I'm dumping all the stuff I have saved on my DVR to make room for Wednesday nights.  Well, I'll keep some of the South Parks.

Micheal,

I think between Pincus, and Janich, you have all the instruction you need....However, it would be cool to watch you and pro-gun celebs throwin' some lead downrange together.  Maybe you could call the spot "Celebrity Shootout"  or something catchy like that.  It would be a hoot seeing you and Uncle Ted shootin at the range together.  Maybe some cinema cowboys like Clint Eastwood and Robert Duvall, the Carradine Brothers from the History Channel, others like Micheal Gross "Tremors", and Brad Johnson "Flight of the Intruder", ect...

I think it would be great for the ratings!  When I found out that the late great Dale Earnhart was a guest on any hunting show, I wanted to watch.  I think others probably feel the same way.  It lets us see another side of our favorite celebs outside of their acting careers.  Doing what all of us love to do...enjoy our firearms.  Hell, even Glenn Beck is an NRA member!  He's got a big audience to educate.  Also, it would be fun to see you interacting with them.

Got rid of the South Park since I was able to buy it on DVD. I will be able to recover more space on my Tivo when Best Defense comes out on DVD, hint, hint.  ;D

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the maker to the shoulder (chest) holster that Michael Bane was wearing in last weeks show. It appeared to be Kydex and was green in color.

Go down to the Shooting Gallery Forum and Ask Michael.  He'll be happy to answer your question for you.

Actually I think Michael Gross is on the NRA's "No friends of the gun" list.  Wouldn't mind seeing Angelina Jolie shoot, however.  Maybe Michael's 454 Casull.  That should provide adequate recoil to get things moving.   ;D

Marshalette is gonna send me to the corner for that one, isn't she?

Yah know, a few segments with the likes of uncle Ted, Lou Dobbs, Glenn Beck, a key NRA execs, etc., discussing the political issues would fit in very well with the "macro" focus promised for the next season ;)

Hello.  Not that the program needs my "yea" or "nay" but in my view, it has been and will almost certainly continue to be a first-rate program for folks interested in self-protection and being willing to take responsibility for their own safety.  I asked my wife to watch a few minutes as she is just not a shooter (though she supports the Second; there would be a divorce otherwise) and then asked her if she understood what was being explained and if she felt talked down to.  "Yes" to the first question and "No" to the second.

I think that it is a wise move to involve the ladies in this program and for obvious reasons; they're potential victims in more ways than might be common for us old heathen males.  I also think that this might lead to making inroads with "soccer moms" and so forth, inroads that might turn some FOR supporting the Second rather than being ambivalent or AGAINST simply because they know no better.

While I live, breath, eat, sleep and dream guns, I know now and as a retired 25-year police officer, deadly force may very well not even be a viable option even if a criminal act is being committed against us.  I like what is being shown on being aware of one's surroundings as well as less-than-lethal defense responses, though like shooting, hands-on proper training is necessary without question.  Were I king, things would probably be otherwise, but that's not likely and as the saying goes, "It is what it is," and I believe that  "Best Defense" is not only a winner but a public service to those clever enough to pay attention and consider their own situations relative to self-protection.

Best.
