Alright Team,
As you guys know I'm a video game dev and I'm asking for opinions on a couple pieces I'm doing for a personal project, mainly cause I don't own these weapons, and there will be many more in the future. I'm making these guns in a 3D modeling software package and I'll texture them later in Photoshop, which is putting the color and fine bump detail(scratches and nicks) on.
This first one up is a Winchester 1894 lever action. I don't own this weapon and I was working off a half dozen reference pictures, so I don't got the whole picture. Any way, let me know what you think and if you see any corrections that could be made, such as, that's too small, too big, add this, move that. And if you know of any corrections great, if you could provide pics then that would be awesome. If I could get pics of the top of the receiver open and then shut, and a pic of the bolt open, that would be a ton of help.
Also whats the largest caliber made for the 1894 that was in use?
Thanks Guys

As someone that also does not poses that model I will not give technical advice. However, I can not pass without saying that I like what you've done, and I'm sure that with a little input you will nail it.
Good Job!

Even in a "virtual" rendering,

A good Winchester always looks better with a little "wear" on the stock.

Looks good, dude. I think that's the perfect excuse to have to go out and buy one...for research, of course. ;D I wanna say 45/90 was the largest caliber offered (there are others with a lot more knowledge in this area). I'm pretty sure it was at least offered in 45/70.

You missed the rear Barrel band and the one you have holding the front of the mag tube should also go all the way around the barrel, or does that go in the later stuff ?

The larger caliber variants are really not representative of the rifle. Winchester offered "Big Bore" models in .444 Marlin, .450 Marlin, and .45/70, but the rifle itself was a bit different. The scale and design was altogether different. The rifle, for all intents and purposes was built for the .30-.30 Winchester. If you want to be true to the design, you need to look at one in that caliber. Your renders look pretty good...

I figured the .30-.30 was THE caliber and you could have had big slug gun versions, but if the .30-.30 was THE primary caliber then that's a great bit of info, I'd like for it to be a rifle and not a slug gun. :) I brought the mag tube out to be flush with the barrel. And on the barrel band, I got the hex barrel going on, and in all the reference I looked up I didn't see a hex with the band, sucks cause I like them.
Thanks guys

TW, please tell me about the musket style 1894, second from the top in your phot. Now that I look at it a second time, that's in a museum somewhere, no?
And would everyone please stop talking about pants ! ! ? ? Please? ???
