I have a chance to get a Mohawk Brown Nylon 66 in about 80% condition. They are asking 200 but I might get it for 175 or maybe just 200 'out the door'.
Serial number 416xxx which I believe translates to a late 60s ('67/'68) model.
What do y'all think?

hey cat !!!a single barrel shotgun will bring 175 / 200 around here . i have my dads rem. 22 with the worm hole .it take 3xs that to get it. then i would not sell. i would get that 66 now. good luck!!!! xd40lover ???

About 7 years ago I sold a Black/Crome 66 that was 90% for 175.00 seems like a good price to me.
But My keeper is a Remingtion pump 22 with a tube magazine pre 1968 so no ser. number

BUY,BUY,BUY. Boy does that bring back memories.

DANG IT!! Why did y'all have to say that? (don't y'all have any respect for my nonexistent bank account??) Now I HAVE to get it. Oh, darn! ;)
The "Black Diamond" is the least collectible and you sold it for 175 a couple of years ago. DANG!
Now I have to go to the shop tomorrow and pick it up. (hope it's still there!)

Got it! Paid 197 out the door. Now to clean it up and shoot it. :D

Let the plinking begin!
Sounds like fun, have not been shooting for a while, need to go.
This reminds me, I bought a Savage/Springfield 87A at a garage sale for $50 - cracked stock, lots of blue missing, and didn't work. Tough finding parts for it, finally got some through Numrich. I still remember the hassle of getting the various little parts to fit - the parts broken were all in the reloader from the tube into the chamber. Actually, just worn out is all.
When I thought I had it done, I took it to the garage, and shot out the third door into the garden with the hill behind it - no one around out here. Cannot believe the fun when I heard the gun go bang each time I pulled the trigger - rapidly, and the little sub-sonic CCI casings pinging off things in the garage.
.22's can be lots of fun!

MB's podcast on double action revolvers got my mo. 648 S&W 22 MAG out of the safe for a work out.
Lot's of fun not much spent . HAPPY PLINKING.

Congrats on your new plinker!!! I love my Mohawk, one of the best .22's ever made IMHO. Recieved mine new 26yrs. ago as a gift. Started my daughter off on it when she was 5. I now have close 20,000 rounds thru it and it has never failed not once!!! Enjoy!!!!!

Cleaned it up and took it to the range last night. This thing is a riot to shoot!
It cycles so fast you can make two shots sound like one long one. Its pretty much on at 50 but of course the son had to try at 100 (kids ::)).
Any way with open sights, standing off hand he was putting about 20% in the bull! (Damn I envy those young eyes!)
Put around 250 rounds through it and it just keeps on going.
Really glad I picked it up.

That 1911 may have to wait a while. I've blown my budget all to heck and back. :o
