Title: glock permanent retexture

just wanted to know some pros and cons on getting my glock grip retextured let me know of any thing you know or have heard from others this is permant so i dont wanna regret it

What are you using the Glock for?  If you ever want to use it for competition it will be illegal in some divisions. 

I have seen some that are well done and others not but have not had the chance to fire any that have had texturing done.

First I've heard of this.  What technique do they use?  How is it textured?

I believe it's called stippleing,I'm thinking most who do it,do it mostly for looks,some for a better grip.Personally i would never do it to any of my polymer framed pistols.

Get a Hogue slip on grip or use some skateboard tape

1st I like some added traction, 2nd, it can be done in several ways, stippling with a wood burning tool or soldering iron, decals, appliques or slip on enhancements, the stick on stuff can be skateboard tape, and I'm not against it, it works and can be removed later. There is one provider that has a stick on, nearly suede like material, that feels very comfortable. 3rd there is a spray on finish, with abrasive in the mix, that I think is outstanding.

Cripes m25operator, that machine is scary awesome!!!  ;D Bet you have that sucker dialed in...

Older Glocks I used a Uncle Mike's slip on grip. I was not clever enough to use skateboard tape but had I known, I would have.

I have the newer Glock and it fits perfect for my hand in 9mm and 45 acp.

Checked out the new Glock 22 with the new grip. Feels rather abrasive and not sure if I would want to shoot it all day long without gloves. But I will probably buy one anyway since I am a Glock fan!!!

m25,  COOL link.  Thanks.  I've gotta start looking for somebody in SE Michigan with good experience doing that now! (dont like shipping guns!) Anybody seen the duracoat stuff wear off or anything negative about getting that done?  Wonder if they can add the abrasive material to the grip as part of that coating?

Badgersmilk...check with the Open USPSA shooters, a lot of them like to do that (or have it done0 to their STI or SV grips.
