Title: *** Up-Date*** Draconian Gun Law Guts 2nd Amendment Privacy
Post by: Luv2Shoot on March 22, 2009, 10:08:13 PM
A shocking new gun control law recently introduced in Albany County is being labeled the most draconian piece of anti-second amendment legislation yet seen. The law requires buyers of all ammunition, even shotgun pellets, to provide their drivers license, state their purpose for buying the ammunition, and have the information retained and accessible by law enforcement for no less than 10 years.  :o

From my experience with the jackass that runs infowars the only shocking thing is that the man can use draconian in a sentence. He routinely spreads misinformation to get folks riled up. I'm not saying its not possibly true, because they do sometimes get stuff right, just that coming from these guys, if it sounds absurd, assume it is absurd until independently verified. They make World Nut Dailey look like the Wall Street Journal.

over here

we have to be licensed  to own a Firearm  and have to show our license to buy Ammo  with out a license  NO Ammo ( that includes Air Rifle Pellets )

here is where it gets Fun ( grey aria)

you are not meant to buy ammo for what you not licensed to shoot

ie  no pistol ammo if you are not licensed for H class.   however that depends on the state you are in and if you are in a club doing training.

from what I have seen with what they are trying to do over there in the US  a lot of it has all ready happened here or similar things over here in Aust.

One of the local citys here make you show ID and give up your right tumb print to buy hand gun ammo.

Whats really funny is on youtube, there is the city counsel sesson where they pasted it... Every single professional they had there, from the citys lawyer to the chief of police, said this will not work and do nothing, it will just cost us money.

it pasted 5-0

Perhaps.

And then, perhaps, this is just a step farther along than what the entire state of Illinois demands, namely that you apply for and obtain an FOID card before you are even "allowed" to handle ammunition, let alone purchase it or a dreaded firearm. All this does is take it one step farther and disallow shotgun pellets too. To the best of my knowledge, Illinois has no requirement to destroy its information either.

What???  :o :o  It has to be all true I read it on the internet and saw it on the news.
Getting people riled can be a good thing. We Americans are losing more and more of our Rights and Freedom everyday. If articles like this get people to start doing research on their own to find out whats happening around the Country and in their own State or County with not just to our second amendment but to ALL of our rights  then the articles have done their job.

Looking at the responses from our fellow members it looks like in one form or another it has already happened in their area.

I for one like the fact that I can walk into a store and purchase as much as I want or need with out someone asking me why or how I intend to use it. It's none of their business.

Unfortunately most of us can't afford or get appointed heavily armed Agents to protect us or our families like certain people in Washington.

So why should we all not have the same rights to protect our families and ourselves from harm? Whether it's your state or mine we need to shake that tree and wake people up. Everyday our Constitutional Rights and Freedom get less and less.

Anti-Gun laws only affect the law abiding citizens. No matter how many anti-gun laws are passed a criminal will always be armed.

"Gun Free Safe Zones provide helpless and easy targets for criminals"

Proposal to register ammo on hold
March 24, 2009 at 11:53 am by Carol DeMare, Staff writer

A proposed new Albany County law that would require gun shops to register the ammunition it sells — a controversial measure that has brought out Second Amendment advocates locally, and across the country – is on hold.

Legislator Bryan Clenahan, chairman of the Law Committee, sent the measure Monday night to Albany County Attorney Craig Denning for a ruling on its constitutionality.

That means the Law Committee — to where the proposal was forwarded during a meeting of the full legislature earlier this month — will have no further comment on the law until a decision is made by Denning. Tonight’s scheduled public hearing on the matter is cancelled until further notice, Clenahan said.

San Leandro was like that ten years ago.
