Title: So what is on the menu for Season 2?
Post by: Parrotthead on March 26, 2009, 06:58:11 AM
I looked around the site but could not find a synopsis of what to expect next season. Sorry if this has already been revealed but I need something to look forward to while the rest of the country holds it's breath to find out who will be the next "American Idol"  ::)

Season 2 is still under production and synopsis will not be available until just before it starts airing in July.

Thanks for watching.

If you saw the "best of" episode earlier this week, MB teased the show that will be airing in July... technically, not Season 2 of "The Best Defense" (which would come later), but a spin-off "The Best Defense: Survival"!

We start taping soon... and I'm sure that more information will be released as appropriate... but you can start thinking "Big Picture Events".

Actually, Ping, We've been told that it is happening... just waiting for it to happen!

DRTV will certainly find out as soon as we do and you should expect the DVDs to be available through Stay Safe Media and other venues....

Teasers:

We did a lot of work on what we referred to as the "disaster range" at US Training Center.

Ken Hackathorn joined us a guest instructor on Tuesday, here we were discussing "clearing" while alone.

Fighting to the trunk to get a rifle and using a car as cover were also covered.

Do you still have to yell "CLEAR!" even if you are alone? ;D

Great topics. Hate seeing cover and concealment to be overlooked. Glad to see the DRTV site is back up.  :)

.... "safe movement through an unsecured structure" is a better title than "clearing"  I suppose!

cover and Concealment aren't being left out.. in fact, you can look forward to an exploration of the myths of Frangible rounds, and car doors as "cover" as well as other segments related to that topic!

Outstanding. I've always thought Ken Hackathorn was a common sense type guy and am anxiously awaiting hearing his pointers.

As a note, Rob, in the second photo, from that angle, you two could almost pass as 'kin'.........
Or at least two thirds of a pawn shop sign.   ;)

Good luck on the work.....and hurry....we're waiting.

Myself....I wanna see MJ vs. Tony Blauer!  Now there would be a "nice" empty-hand show!  The best vs. the best so to speak!

MJ, up for the challenge?

I wanna see MJ vs. Tony Blauer!

Scenario 1:

Tony hands Mike a Starbucks and then SPEARS him into wall as he is taking first sip.

OR

Scenario 2:

Mike shivs Tony while he is ordering Starbucks.

Probably depends on who was out drinking latest with me the night before.  Either way, that's not good TV.

I cannot wait to see this stuff. Same airtimes?

Not only did much of the filming for the series take place at Disaster City®, the Brayton Fire Training Field and the Emergency Operations Training Center, but TEEX and other entities of
The Texas A&M University System were able to provide subject-matter experts for each of the 10 episodes.

The show topics will include the following:
- Pandemic Events
- Localized Weather (flooding, tornadoes)
- Economic Collapse
- Earthquake
- Wildfires / Urban Fires
- Chemical Spills / HAZMAT
- Riots / Urban Unrest
- Dirty Bomb / Terrorism
- Nuclear Event
- A wrap-up show

The series is set to premier the first week of July and will be aired on Wednesday nights.
