Title: How a 1911 works....you're gonna love this
Post by: CDR on August 20, 2007, 03:49:10 PM
If anyone ever wondered how the internal components of a 1911 work, this is for you.  Just click on the link below.

While the animation plays, you can select various viewing options on the left by checking off the corresponding boxes of what you would like to see in action.   It will show you 1911 components being added or removed and how they interact internally.  This is courtesy of STI and brought to you by the good folks at the M1911 forum.  One of my favorite places to visit.  I highly recommend it for any 1911 fan.  This is easily the best animated gun video I've seen.  Enjoy

That is cool and it does it at a slow speed so you can really see what is happening.

I have seen other similar things before. Such as that ever popular animated gif that sometimes makes the rounds, but this is particularly impressive. Being albe to toggle the selective layer transparencies is quite an ingenious piece of flash. My hat's off to STI , and I highly recommend this to anyone with an interest in learning the 1911.
