Title: Last Weekend Hunt
Post by: philw on April 03, 2009, 07:00:10 AM
I went away with a good mate and his sone to a Trip up north to the Flinders Rangers

he had organised a property that we were able to go hunting on  my mate was able to knock over a couple of Goats,( I need to get the pics of him )   my self I was able to Blood in my 22 :)

a few other pests were also knocked over,   while spot lighting we also saw a few foxes running about, so next time we will be prepared for them as well   ;D

I need to get Fitter for next time   and get out walking more instead of just hunting on the back of a ute  as you can see it is rough and dry.

here are some photos of the from the trip,   I will let them say the rest for me

thanks guys   ;D

Beautiful country.  Any deer or hog types down there?

not in that aria,  in Australia we have  Sambar, Rusa, Chital, Hog, Red, Fallow  deer
+ lots of other stuff,  to hunt,    Ferrel  Cats, Wild Dogs, Foxes, Goats, Buffelo, Pigs, Dear, Camel,  Wild Horse, Duck ( bit of an issue protesters )   if you can get the permits,  Kangaroo.   all Native Animals are protected here that is why you need permits.

Red and fallow deer!  BACK STRAPS!  What kind of hog?  Imported and now wild? (like here in the US)

How hard is it to get 'permits' to hunt and do you have to go to wild life management areas (public lands) like here (of course IF you can find private land that is the best).

How about outfitters?

yep,  all deer were introduced here  years ago,

we also had a few let go when dear farms went under,  they just let them out in to the bush

I wanna get me some of those Feral Cats.  Oh, and you're driving on the wrong side of the road and you ain't got any yellow lines, the reason I say that is, if I ever go to Australia, I'm driving on the right side of the road so you'd all better look out. ;D  Thats some wild looking vegetation, love those trees.
