Robot achieves scientific first

A laboratory robot called Adam has been hailed as the first machine in history to have discovered new scientific knowledge independently of its human creators.

Adam formed a hypothesis on the genetics of bakers’ yeast and carried out experiments to test its predictions, without intervention from its makers at Aberystwyth University.

If anyone is in to SciFi novels, check out "Pandora's Star" by Peter F. Hamilton. I think the relationship between computers and humanity descibed in the novel is what we're in for in the NEAR future.

I think it is interesting that the eyes look asian.  I wonder if they had to work hard on the eyelids or if it would take more work to make them look European/African?  I understand one makes things in a manner one likes them to look, but are eyelids easier to make asian or indoeuropean?
