Lions, Tigers, & Bears, Oh My!. People are not chilling out AT ALL!
Sun Coast has there Gun Show here in Ft. Laud. so we get there early and leave early.
Ammo dealers had plenty, BUT were rationing people to 1500 rds. per caliber. The small ammo cans with 500 rds. each.
So they would get 3cans of 9mm, 3cans 223, 3cans 45ACP, it was unreal. They were borrowing hand-trucks to wheel their stuff out!,... Lines out the door, wall to wall people, CCW classes booked!. Pistols being purchased, Plenty of AR's, Shotguns, new, used, mags, no shortage in that end, plenty of accessories.
Lake City, Winchester, .223 and M193 5.56, 9mm, 40, 45ACP, .380, people were grabbing cans, than having their friend, wife, grab 3 cans. All the popular calibers, was unreal to watch. (I was one of the first ones in the door and calmy bought some ;))
These people were acting like this may be the last chance,....
200rds M193 5.56 $120/ 500rds. $234 / Lake City, Winchester, Rem .223 SAME. Lots of Portuguese 7.62x39 Milsurp, Plenty of those rds.
Right off the bat this guy, (who probably owns a gun shop across town), wanted to buy 5000rds. What individual gets 5000 rds. in ONE trip? Unless your a small gun store that has run out? If it really was for personal use he would have bought it a while ago.
The people were all stocking up on everything, except the exotic calibers. .41 Mag, 454 Casull, .44 Special, etc,...500 S&W, 50BMG were $3.99 a piece.
Even Grampa with his 50 year old .32 walked out with 4 or 5 boxes!
I also purchased a ATI Tactical Stock for my Rem 870. The factory stock IMHO is too long.
A NcStar Quick Release Uni-Bipod. For one of my evil "rifles of color", 8)
30-30 Winchester was not being panic bought nor gouged, so Remington Core-Lokt 150gr SP per 20rds. were $12 or 2 for $20.
.22LR was still a deal so I picked some up. Calmly & Quietly.
I did start to see individuals SELLING more of those "rifles of color", I figure they bought them last year, and now see they can make a tidy profit. S&W 15T Rifle last summer was around $800-900, now $1200-1400.
Let alone the DPMS, Bushy's, etc,...
Drooled over the Auto-Ord, Thompson AGAIN, :P. I must have one, it's my Destiny!......
Starting to like the lever actions in .357.
Everyone was buying some ammo, if this keeps up, it will be like those Black Friday shopping videos where poor souls were trampled when the doors opened. :o
I hope not.

This is crazy. Same thing happening here in Iowa last weekend. People walking up and buying 3000 rounds in a shot.

Went to a rather large gunshow about a month ago. What struck me the most was how many people were there. The show started at 9:00. I got there at 10:30 and had to wait an hour in line. I purposely got there later because there is always an opening line and I thought it would have cleared out by then. When I got in at 11:30 the line was still as long as when I got in it. There was very little ammo at that show.

Same here in NH. Went to Concord show this morning. Line to get in was wrapping around the corner. Most of the people buying ammo by can, package box, whatever... Spare mags were flying out. Place was packed. Prices are high. Not so much gun buying, as far as I can tell.

Now that's about as p.c. as you can get! ;D Thanks for laugh and new terminology.

Same thing happened here, but all of the ammo went in the first few hours. I overheard an employee at the largest ammo vendor say that they wouldn't make very much at that show, since there was no more ammo to sell. They have 2 large areas to sell at each show and all that was left was some of the odd stuff. Made it look like it's time to get a Mosin Nagant.

Crazy.
I'm *this* close to gouging some panic buyer with my Rock River Arms LAR-15 and putting the "windfall" profit towards an FNH

You wouldn't have to gouge too hard. Gander Mt has the FN AR on sale for $1500 through the 20th. That seems like a good price for what seems to be an excellent gun. the down side is that the mags are seventy some each, and I'd buy several because they're proprietary, not the FN FAL ones (JERKS >:(), Still and all, with five round mags it would be a sweet hunter with the twenty, well you will not be outgunned. Check out the "random assault rifle thread" on this board a few weeks back for some good feedback on the weapon.

Well we know that gun shops and ammunition vendors are having a real good year aren't they? See Obama is good for some economies... :P

I went to the local gunshow last week. Same kinda thing going on. People of all ages and groups buying stuff. I saw all the pistol primers sell out in first couple of minutes of the show. Gun prices were up. But, most people didn't seem to be buying guns. Mostly ammo, mags, and other gun stuff.
