But Brady say's . bulls@#t
-
Yup, Brady does, but the anchor and the audience were treated to a non-emotional, sober and logical view of the fallacies of gun control. I'm thinking the presentation from a NYC professor (hardly someone you'd figure to be on our side) may have some impact on those not quite ready for the Kool Aid.
-
I wonder why ABC didn't mention the opposing side of Brady? I wonder why ABC didn't elude to the many positives of owning a gun. Far more people are killed by cars every year. Why are they not more concerned about cars killing so many more people every year?........... Why ...? . .. One sided - media.. that's why. Igonorance is abundant in the media.

Igonorance is abundant in the media.
It isn't ignorance >:(

Keep an eye out for the ABC special this coming Friday at 10pm on guns in America "If I Only Had A Gun". I am wondering which way they are going to swing in the show. Especially since they did give some prime Sunday time to Jim Jacobs. This Friday time slot is usually 20/20 and John Stossel is one of the hosts of that. Stossel has been an outspoken pro gun voice for a number of years. Also John Lotts kid works with Stossel. So lets keep our fingers crossed.

Bullseye!

What facsinates me is that they never broach the question of "What if" a person with a CCW could have been allowed to carry his firearm in a free murder zone would this guy have succeeded in New York.
Even the prof.'s view is quite myoptic. A kind of there are too many to control so expect this to happen. So far these mass killings have been domestic related or a nut has fallen out of the tree. Yet we see from Jon Lott's research that a populace which is encouraged to carry guns has fewer incidents of gun violence by the wolves of society. In contrast look at what is happening in Detroit, Chicago, D.C. with all these restrictions. A lot of killing is happening.
The Pittsburgh shooting was over the murderer's dog peeing in mommy's house. And it sounds like junior was a real tool and it was known by the neighbors. Why didn't mommy clue the cops in that junior had a little issue with his temper and had a gun or two. I hope the dispatcher at least asked the question. If not, what a cost fto be paid for taking a call such as this one as routine.

The "what if a some one had a gun" is all around a bad deal.
Think about this for a second you are a news network and as such have deep pockets. ( or atleast people think you do)
If you say something like " if some one had a gun, no one would have died" how do you think the victimes next of kin are going to take that? how do you think the general population is going take it? How do you think thier demographic is going to take it?
Anyway you look at it, its bad for biz to say something like that.
-
Another false premise. Statistics prove that in the presence of CCW death tolls are lower. The correct statement is "If some one else had a gun FEWER people would have died". All mass killings end with the death or disabling of the BG. If some law abiding citizen with a .45 hastens that event the number of injuries is going to be lower than if not.
Don't you THINK ? Or do you just spout BS from habit ?

Professor Jacobs did make a valid point that the Brady Bill was limited that it just stopped criminals with felony backgrounds from purchasing a firearm. But that does not stop the capability of the criminal to obtain a firearm through criminal means. Another point he made was the fact that there are too many guns out there. They will never be able to completely stop gun violence. Times have changed and people are getting desperate. It is unfortunate all the events that have taken place over the last six weeks with innocent people and law enforcment getting gunned down. The incidents with the LE Officers would not have been changed had there been someone with a CCW present. (Would you get involved with a police action shooting?) The other incidents could have been altered had someone been present and competent with a CCW and armed. Not sure if you know people who have CCW's and don't carry, but this really ticks me off. You never know when you are going to be caught up in a situation that may turn volatile in a heartbeat. I personally just try to be prepared and stay alert while out and about. I just try to have fun, live life, be armed, responsible and well trained. 8)

Oh my god! Tom I almost pissed my pants laughing!!

Maybe, maybe not. Could vs should applys. Drawing your weapon is not always the best corse of action.

There, I fixed it for you.

This is a great story on ABCs coverage this weekend and this morning of guns and the shootings. Too long to just copy so take a look at the story and read the transcript of this mornings coverage on GMA with David Muir and Diane Sawyer. I am sure this Fridays Special will be a terribly one sided report.

Gun CONTROL is VERY important…
How else you gonna hit the target?
Stance ‘n’ posture, grip, sight picture, breathing, etc.! Duh!
:P
-
What I don't understand is the mentality that someone with a gun would not stop the shooter in the mall...
what the hell do they think a cop is?

I'm not sure if you all caught this, but professor Jacobs suggested that some "mechanisms" could be put in place that would allow citizens to alert police before something like this happened.
Some possibilities: How about a database that allowed law enforcement to comb your medical records, internet traffic, e-mail and voice communications that would suggest to them to a possible attack imminent- all without a warrant? Or how about your neighbors reporting you to the police because they don't like the way you keep your yard? Of course every effort would be made to protect your privacy and they would ensure that none of us would be detained unless there was a "very good reason."
Be vigilant.....

That would be a great Idea!!! wow finally a conservative thought I can get behind.
Sorry, I was channeling a liberal.

But gun control works...
-
Will these mutton heads NEVER learn that guns are ,Like them, nothing but a TOOL ?
I know I'm ranting at the choir here but the ONLY gun law that ever reduced crime was the mandatory ownership law in Kennasaw Ga. No arms restriction has EVER made a nation "freer, or safer".
These people are worse than stupid. Stupid people can't think, the anti's either refuse to think or are intentionally lying.

Whack-jobs using any "TOOL" = stupid..
The pool of whack-jobs keeps getting bigger...
