Sorry for your loss..... happy for your gain. It is great to see guns kept in the family and turned into heirlooms.

Hey shooter...sorry about your father-in-law passing. At least you have something he passed a long that you can remember him every time you shoot or clean one of those pieces. Looking forward to pictures.

Gee, my father in law golf's... Whew hoo... :(

If you have any stories to go along with the guns, I'd write them down. That way when you pass them on to your kids, they can share in the memories.
I intend to do this when my father passes.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Your father-n-law has great taste, those are some classic firearms that you and your family I'm sure will cherish for generations.

He wasn't a hunter or a shooter. I only knew of the Colt and the Rem. .22 rifle, the others I had no idea. All the guns he had were left to him when his father passed. So I don't have any stories or memories of them. :(
I was cleaning the Win. Model 90 yesterday and it has a pocket on the case with the original cleaning rod that came with the case. 8) For not being a "gun guy" the guns are in great shape..

You just told a story to be remembered. Start with how you got the guns, and move on through things like you just said. You'd be surprised what a generation or two down the line would love to know about things like these. Worse case is that there is a history of what you did with the gift left to you by your father-in-law.

That Marlin 39A is a sweet one. When my mother's uncle passed, he left behind a lot of guns. Most were $2 swap meet barrel guns, but there were a few sweet ones. I got a Luger that he took off a dead german in Italy. One of my brother has his Marlin 39 and it's become his favorite gun.

Yep it's in mint condition too. I can't wait to take them out to the range.
