Title: Super Podcast for this week! 4/8/09
Post by: HAWKFISH on April 08, 2009, 03:40:39 PM
Just in case anyone missed the DownRangeRadio Podcast this week, don't deprive yourself the opportunity to hear from someone besides me talk about how Glocks are such fine weapons. Great podcast! Thanks you MB and thanks to Ken Hackathorn for talking guns. I really enjoyed this one. And I think people got some good information out of it.  ;)

He did express an fondness for the 10MM...without reference to the Bren Ten.

It'd be great if the 10mm would start getting enough attention to ensure that it not only stays alive, but thrives. There was always an attitude that it was just too much gun, but ask uncle Ted.

In the most recent Combat Handguns (June 2009), there is an article on the Micro Desert Eagle. In the "final thoughts" part of the article, the author poses the question, "Would you prefer a bigger gun, "more gun", a 9mm, 10mm, .40 or .45acp?…" It wasn't that long ago, that any article would have mentioned the other 3 cartridges, while excluding the 10, so I'm giving it up to Dennis Adler for his piece. Let's see more 10!

I hope the Fortis is a really good weapon.  That will go a long way towards keeping the present 10mm resurgence alive.  Only issue is that it's 6 to 12 months from going commercial.

Glock makes a good durable 10. I heard Colt was reintroducing the Delta Elite. Did that ever happen? I wonder if Fortis could get a license to use the Bren name. I'd buy a Vltor Fortis Bren Ten …and a Glock 20, 29 … and a Delta Elite.

I think that there will need to be more affordable 10's than the Fortis to keep it alive. Maybe a XD, or M&P. Dan Wesson's 1911 version is pretty sweet, though.

Podcast almost made me want to go get that Glock 17 at the pawn shop. Almost . . .

Have a much, much better goodie coming next week after payday. Porn as it becomes available.

I enjoyed the podcast a lot...but what I want to know is there any chance of finding the pond scum that messed up DRTV?

I enjoyed the interview very much.  We need more such preservation of our recent history in the gun culture.  The point about how much more we are shooting now is well-taken.  Pistol-shooting competitions have brought us a long way by bringing more people into the fold.  Good work.
