Title: Palin appt of Wayne Anthony Ross as AG not confirmed

Although there were high expectations last month when Sarah Palin appointed Wayne Anthony Ross as Alaskan Attorney General it was dashed yesterday. Ross is on the NRA Board of Directors and active in the gun collecting and rights community. He would have made a great AG but politics is a pretty sleazy business and he lost his chance....

JUNEAU -- The Alaska Legislature voted 35 to 23 on Thursday to reject the confirmation of Wayne Anthony Ross, Gov. Sarah Palin's pick for attorney general.
 
According to Legislative Research Services, it was the first time in state history a head of a state agency has failed to be confirmed by the Legislature. All the Democrats in the Legislature voted against Ross and were joined by nine Republicans, including the Senate president and House speaker...

From reading the article it seems quite clear that the dims (of course) and some Rs just don't want an honest man that will stand up and fight (even the legislature) for the people.
