O.K. It finally came in.....not the one I wanted but we couldn't find a Spec Ops that wasn't insanely priced. I'll just have to add a threaded barrel later....
M&P 9mm. Full size. No mag disconnect, no safety. Bought 2 extra mags and sent in the promotion for 2 free mags (that'll give me a total of 6) ;D Gun was $475. Can't wait to get out and make it go bang. I've shot others and like them alot.
-
Congratulations you should love it. I have the M&P 40 and I love mine. My wife loves it so much she wants to trade her Sig P226 9mm for a M&P 9mm. They are great guns. I may have to get one in .45 as well. I even wrote S&W a letter requesting one in 10mm. If they make one I would trade my Glock 20 in a heartbeat. I am a huge fan of the M&P. In my opinion it is the best polymer framed pistol availible.

Agree.
I have a bunch of 1911's and now is the time to start a new family. Next will be in .45 ;D
Just to get it out of my system Glocks suck ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Nice M&P. Definately on my list.
ohhh...Glock bashing...
I know a guy who has a Sig 229. We were talking about pistols and how I want to buy one in the next month or so. I mentioned shooting a couple of Glocks lately...
He says..."Sigs are what people shoot who like to shoot something nice all the time. Glocks are what you shoot when you have to shoot someone and won't cry when the cops take the gun away." I guess you could take that both ways...Glock bashing on ugly guns or saying that if you need to shoot someone the Glock is the one for the job.
-
Congrats! I find them to be nicely balanced, reliable guns, and enjoyable to shoot.

YES, YES, and YES. The M+P owners are coming out. I think that's awesome. No "G" bashing, just M+P bragging. ;)
Bought my full size .40 in Spring 08, NO issues, not even 1 FTE, FTF. Runs, and ran a "mini" torture test. (previous thread on here in the archives).

These were at 25 yds. with Magtech Ammo, after 250 rds with no cleaning.
S&W got this one right, I just wish they would get my PPK/S back soon. :-\

Congrats! I find them to be nicely balanced, reliable guns, and enjoyable to shoot, and recall free.

I agree, I owned one for about a year. Kind of regret selling it sometimes but it was a needed sacrifice to buy something else.

;)
i like your attitude.

Very cool. MY new one is supposed to be delivered to my FFL today! ;D I have the compact 9 and now I will have the full size as well. Kind of wanted the one with the safety but no joy on that. Oh well, I'll just have to make do. ;) 8) Magazine buying spree time. Anyone know of a good place to buy S&W mags, reasonably?

Thats exactly what I bought my Glocks for, self defense. Nothing more, nothing less. I've never used a Smith in any thing other than a wheel gun (which I like a lot) but at $475, I would definately give them a look if I were in the market.

Unfortunately no,..... The prices are pretty consistent, (they all suck), on many different outlets, Did you get the S&W extra mag offer? I believe they offer 2 mags with purchase,..
-
Mag offer was good until 4/30. Copy of dated receipt could be mailed in until 5/15.
But we can all hope they extend or start a new offer.

Nice price 1911 Junkie. I am a Glock fan but I love my Smith and Wesson M&P 9c. If I do not have my Glock 21 SF .45 ACP than I am definitely carrying my M&P. Would like to get another one in .40 or .45. There is a long slide M&P 9mm at the gun shop/range that I go to and always look at it and teased about buying but they just jacked the prices up and they are going for over $630 here. I paid $550 for my Smith and Wesson M&P.

Nice price 1911 Junkie.
It's good to know the right people. ;)

I have the S&W MP .45 standard size with Crimson Trace sights. That is a sweet shooting gun. I CC it sometimes in cold weather due to size. I have 1000 round thru it and have run thru a CQC class without missing a beat! Fine gun. As a everyday CC gun I carry the Glock 36 single stack as well, and I really love that gun too. I luv all well made guns in .45. Kimber, S&W, Para, Springfield and Glock.. :)

Try not to be so picky. ;)

It's been killing me but I finally got over to my buddies range today to shoot it. We were kinda tight on time so I was basically looking for a fuction test and try all the mags. I love this gun. I love the trigger and my buddy (who has the same gun) said the trigger will smooth up after a few hundred rounds. I didn't see a problem with the trigger so even better. I don't know if it was me but the trigger felt completely different shooting than it did dry fireing (ie: better). I ran about 150 rds through it, worked flawless right out of the box. Groups were tight (I didn't measure but I have high expectations for anything I shoot). Did some slow fire at first then did some quick double taps on multiple targets. The gun transitioned nicely from target to target. I've shot these guns before but this one is better than all the others (because it's mine) ;)
Overall I'm very satisfied.
I hate to say it, but I'm done buying 1911's for awhile (mainley because I already have 6 ;D ). Next is definately going to be a full size .45 then probably a compact.
It felt really good to pull the trigger today even if wasn't very many rounds.
-
Two weeks later and you finally shoot the M&P? Man, I can't go a couple of days without firing my new handgun. You will truly love the M&P. I have the 9mm compact and it is really accurate. The trigger pull is what sold me on my pre-purchase evaluation.
-
S & W had the best price I could find on magazines for both my M&P 9 and my .22a
High prices are hard enough to swallow, but when you think you should be able to find cheaper and the mfg. is the cheapest it really hurts.
-
I forgot I paid $51 per magazine for the M&P. Probably why I complained when two weeks after I purchased one they offered the two free magazine deal again. ::)
-
Don't have the papers in front of me.
I think I paid $39 per mag.
Are the mags interchangable between guns (bigger to smaller of course) if the same caliber?
-
I haven't tried shooting it yet but the 17 round full size M&P mag fits in and locks up in the compact. It looks like it should work. This is in the 9mm versions. I just bought some mags from CDNN for 29.95 for the 17 round full size edition.
-
Dang i paid 25.99 for 15rd glock mags and i thought i was ripped off. Well i cant complain my 33rd mags cost 44.99. ;D
-
I'm used to buying Para mags, nothing I do seems cheap. :'(

Ping,
Did you check with S&W about getting the free ones seeing as you purchased during the small window between the offers? I've never tried it with them, but I heard of some that got the free knife deal and free range bag deal even after the offer had expired. Doesn't cost anything to ask, and it could be worth over $100 if they say yes!
-
No I have not. Didn't think of it to be honost with you m58. Would be nice to have extra mags. I am trying to get the new holster for the M&P 9c called the "Summer Comfort". The holster I am using now rides to high and the MP9 feels like it is going to fall out.
