AHAhahahhahahahahahahahahaha...
OK, OK. I'm alright now. I'm alright.
I really need to just go to sleep

BO needs to smile so we can see him.

Naw, I get creeped out when he smiles, like he's up to something. Of course, I feel that way when he's not smiling too.

Why aren't more African Americans supporting the 2A? Why aren't they part of the gun culture? Do they maybe feel a bit unwelcome? C'mon M'lette, just delete this one, I'll forgive you if you let my comments about you running naked through the sprinklers slide. ;D

I second FQ on this one...you can call him a dirty commie rat fink, but racial stuff is over the line. He, like us all, had no choice of parents. He does have a choice when it comes to political and moral beliefs. We can call out anyone on that. M'lette just say sorry and delete the thread...
-
Gotta agree. I dislike him for the color of his politics, not his skin.
-
Just for the record, I don't believe any of us would make nasty comments about Alan Keyes, Thomas Sowell or Condy Rice. They aren't made about Colin Powell and he does not agree with us. However they got where they are because of hard work. BO got where HE is by conniving and preying on liberal white guilt and therefore will be ridiculed, insulted and demeaned on any grounds available even though it is his politics we hate for.
-
I don't think M'lette has anything to apologize for. I'm really tired of hearing people say, you can't say anything about him being black. Why not?? He's black! Tom is right about him playing the white guilt card. He has played it really well too.
Let me ask this. If they had Clinton in that photo wearing a beat up old straw hat, overalls with no shirt, holding a jug with XXX on it, and the biggest "Deliverance" smile he could muster, would you get offended?
It wasn't like it was a picture of him in a cotton field. That I would say is wrong, because that is going back to a time when people were treated unequally and inhumanly.
I can be called whitey or cracker by some wannabe thug gangster, but if I respond with anything having to do with the color of skin, I am the racist. So damn sick of it.
Another thing that just chaps my hide is people who say the are such-and-such American. I'm Mexican-American. I'm African-American. I'm French-American or whatever else. If you are a legal citizen of this country, you are AMERICAN. Nothing else. I come from a German heritage. I don't walk around telling people I am German-American just because my ancestors from centuries ago were German. It is all a bunch of BS.
Alright, ranting over with.

Never have you and I been more on the same page, Texan. Why is it, first of all, that only whites can be racist in this country? And secondly, I firmly believe that this hyphenated-american bullshit is one of the big reasons this country is so divided these days.
Now my mini-rant is over with. ;D

You might be a right wing extremist... You might be soon getting a visit from the Secret Service....

Racist! How can we be racists when BO is half white. I think the world has forgotten that part. This is a new day. The US has elected the first half breed. I know I'm in trouble now. But it doesn't really mater if he is Black, White or Green. Its his liberal ways and the way he follows Pelsoci and friends around like a puppy dog that worries me.

Folks, let me try to explain this. There are two issues at play here, number one is what is right and number 2 is what is smart.
1) I teach Americam political history, with an emphasis on racial politics, not just black and white but looking at the Irish, the Italians and the jews (none of whom were considered white initially). I also discovered my great granddad was a Klansman back in the twenties, not something I'm proud of. The fact is that racism is very real, still alive and often manifests itself in ways we don't realize. If I had posted something similar about say Evangelicals Rastus and Pathfinder would have been all over me with both feet, and correctly so. I would also appreciate it as sometimes your predjudice comes out without you realizing it, and you need someone to point it out. I don't think M'lette is a racist or meant any harm. She is a fine person, she just posted something dumb. 75% of political correctness is just plain BS, the other 25% on the other hand is just good manners.
2) There is also the issue of what is smart. The media, and a lot of folks think that gun owners are all racist rednecks. Why bolster that image? We here on this board, by posting on an open public forum, have a responsibilty to show that gun owners are good folks. We just got done patting ourselves on the back about how friendly this place was, and it is. The question is, If you were a black guy who just bought a gun, how welcome would that post make you feel? We think about this stuff not just because its the right thing to do, but also because its the smart thing to do. More members means more chances of preserving our rights and I don't care what color you are, if you're pro 2A you're my brother in the cause.

Poking fun at the Irish in another thread.
Why no outrage there? Hypocrite much?

Because my grandmother is Irish, Adelaide Sullivan, as I alluded to in that thread, and so I can get away it. Also, I wasn't making fun of the Irish, I was making fun of Tom, and that's always allowed. ;D As I said, I'm not exhibiting any great moral outrage over a harmless joke that was meant with no malice at all. All I'm saying is that all of us, particularly now, need to be mindful of the need to reach out to folks, and not inadvertantly drive them away.

Any black person who looks at that and is outraged and doesn't see it as a joke was never going to be on our side to begin with.
You have rational and irrational people in every race. Rational people can give and take jokes and more importantly differentiate between jokes and slurs. We shot USPSA with a couple of black guys. We would give them a hard time and they would give it right back to us. Those are the guys I want on my side, not anybody who might get offended if you look in their general direction for to long.
Once again, the black people who would not laugh at this have a chip on their on their shoulder and you will never knock it off no matter how PC you try to be.

So let me get this straight. Your on a website run by Michael Bane and the Outdoor Channel. A commercial pursuit. Your "in public" for all intents. The "viewing" audience is everyone of every background and even international. There are young kids that are attracted to the shooting sports, women etc. All your potential readers. And this is acceptable behavior?

Point taken!
Personally I don't see Major Barry as black...just racially challenged!

Going to have to call BS on that!! Because your grandmother is Irish, you can make fun of the Irish? What kind of donkey sense does that make? That's another reason this country is getting more and more screwed up. Everyone crying for equality and at the same time saying you can't say this or that because we are different, we aren't equals. So which one is it?
The statement of "I can make fun of my own kind but you can't because you are a different ethnically then me" is one of the most racist thoughts out there. It's automatically setting up differences that get pointed out and thrown in your face. Not by the people cracking jokes or making observations, but by the people that are so concerned about everyone being a racist pig, that they themselves fail to see how stupid they really are. For example, you tell a black person they are terrible at their job, the main response you'll get is, "It's cause I'm black right?!?!" No, it's because you suck at your job. Nothing to do with skin tone.
Just so freaking sick of people too wussy and tender-footed to speak their minds, to have freeness of speech, because so many people out there are holding their race card. As soon as you say something, they hold it up, wave it in your face, and call you a racist. So big whoop-dee-freaking-do if the president is black. Haven't once seen anyone on here say they didn't like him because of the pigmentation of his skin. It's because he SUCKS at his job.
Also, during the Bush presidency, you couldn't turn on the TV without seeing someone commenting how stupid this country-bumpkin sounds when he speaks or how dumb of a redneck he is. (In case you didn't know it, redneck is a 'racist' term.)* People made jokes of all kinds at his expense. Not once did I see someone say, "HEY, you can't do that! He's WHITE!!" Tired of the double standard set by a bunch of pansies. I didn't own slaves, my dad didn't, his dad didn't and his dad before him didn't.
So to hell with anyone that says you can't make jokes about BHO "because he's black". So damn what. His skin is slightly darker then mine. He is still a damned idiot that is going to put this country so deep in a hole it won't be able to claw it's way back for a very long time. And hey, it is common sense that someone with dark skin will fade into a dark room more so then someone with lighter skin, leaving just the bright reflective spots showing prominently.
Done now. Going to find my blood pressure medicine.

What Kind of sh!t storm would it stir up if I started a network called "White Entertainment TV", a magazine called Ivory, National Association for the Advancement of White People, or a White Congressional Caucus.
Get over it, it's not like it was a picture of him in a welfare office.

The company I work for hires unlicensed personnel (those that are too dumb, too lazy, or just plain don't have enough seatime to become an officer) from a union known for what we call 'sea lawyers'. these are the ones that only work enough to keep from getting fired, send them to do a job and they do it half-assed, but they do it. majority of these dicks are looking for a free ride.. 'the chief yelled at me and I felt threatened - I'm going to sue!' I'm sure some people have worked in machinery spaces and know that you have to yell just to be heard... anyway, just before I came home our 'qmed' unlicensed person in the engine room, went home (he was black by the way) and was replaced with an older black man. well, all was well until he started the 'you're yelling at me' BS. then suggesting maybe racism because he was made to clean while the rest of us did other jobs. (that is his job... and he does have the same opportunities to get a license as the rest of us). it's amazing, the young man that he relieved did his job without complaint and would finish in a hurry so he could come help the officers and learn the job. he wants to be somebody, be an engineering officer. easy to get along with, good sense of humor and take a joke. the other fellow, well, I didn't bother talking to the dickhead. when he asked why? I told him.. your a dick. nothing racist about that. just call 'em like I see 'em. needless to say, he didn't like me. oh well. this is not the first time we've run into this mentality either, most of these guys that stir up the shit are looking for a lawsuit and a free ride or are racist themselves.
oh yeah as far as joking about the IRISH - well, they are Irish... why not? not likely we'll drive them away either, they're like bad weeds, you never get rid of them. ;D

I sure would like to buy you a cup or coffee or something some day. There is so much truth dripping out of that it hurts.
Redneck...oh yeah, we can make fun of Rednecks and put "reasonable restrictions" on Christians....I'm sure the people who decry "rights" and "equal protection" and "racism" will be right there standing up for those people's rights...oh wait...those people are the persecuters I have been deceived :-[ . All this BS about some redneck going crazy and taking out BHO.....look at the assassinations of the last, oh say,...50 years since hard working plain speaking people have been looked down on and...wait...it's the looney leftists that have been trying to take out presidents. Some kind of Nazi groups bombing judges, or maybe..the well-received (by the left) eco-terrorists.
Well...thanks for calling bovine scatology on that one True Texan.

Well... that sure brought out the troops. ;D
Now I don't want anyone to get there britches in a knot..but ...................
Lighten up guys.........it isn't like I'm wearing a new white sheet with eye holes cut out posting these things.
jeese.. it was a joke.. ::)
you think I get all bent out of shape every time someone posts or chases me down to tell me a raunchy blond joke depicting me as dumb?
I mean there is all kinds of 'ethnic' jokes out there.
The blacks are the first ones to scream about racial stuff.. but seems anymore that IF you are black.. you can say anything to a white person public or private and it is fine. But a white person even mention anything that is remotely associated with a stereotype black person and we are supposed to be shot on the spot.
I have to agree with T Texan. I am really tired of.. because I am white I have to bow down and slither off in the corner every time anything of black color is mentioned. No one gets all bent out of shape on any other subject..
I am not racial against anyone..I don't care if they are black white green , yellow, red... fat, anorexic, toothless and have 2 heads and their mama is their wife and they live in Arkansas( *grinning*). I don't care..
If I see something about any of those things that are funny I'll post it or tell it. *Arkansas people ..I apologise (kind of)* ;D ;D
I thought the picture was funny.(I laughed out loud in fact ) simple as that.
Sorry if I'm not political and socially correct in today's standards. :) If that makes me less in anyone's eyes.....weellllll
so be it. (http://www.rightnation.us/forums/style_emoticons/default/erst060.gif)
I'll tell you what..
I will move it to the joke section.
( But I still got a hoot out of it) ;D
-
Can't move it.. sorry.
I just went into the system and did a mock move and it will scatter all the posts and mix them in with and between all the jokes. Then my ass whipping will be lost in the shuffle and I don't want that.. :D
I'll just have to let it set..
The solution is :::For those of you who are offended.. don't click on this thread again.. ;D
***I'm just kidding around with you guys.. and ribbing you a bit. I hope you know that! ;D
hell its only one thread.. It will be on the 3rd page before long.. LOL
Nothing to get in a stew about for too long. There is more things going on in our world to worry about than 2 big white eyes peering at you.
