I just discovered a Tac Sol .22 conversion unit for a 1911 SS in a local GS. Snapped it up plus and extra mag. Extra mags are $70...a bit steep as far as I'm concerned but I got it anyway. Anyone have one and what ammo does yours like? Haven't had a chance to try it on my lowers to see which/if it fits. Will have to wait for a local show to but a sampling of ammo to try. I'll post results as I can because trips to the indoor range are too infrequent.

I don't have the Tac Sol, but I do have a Kimber 1911 in .22, and I have a friend that has a Kimber conversion on his Kimber 1911. Both of these like the cheap high velocity the best. Mine will function on standard velocity, but will not go to slide lock, and his will occasionally jam on standard velocity.
Of all my .22's the Kimber 1911 is the only one that will consistantly run and go bang on cheap Remmington. I don't know what it is, but that is the one I have the most trouble with. Winchester Wildcat works good for me, but others in our group can't shoot it.
Buy on 50 round box of several brands and have a fun day at the range trying it out ;D

If its brand new I'd also hold off on a quick choice as .22 is going to require a longer break in with a semi. I'd expect some jams until you have a few hundred through it.

Just a quick range report on my "New Toy"...can's say it was 100% but it was more reliable than I hoped. Only had 3 different types of ammo to try and Damn if I didn't forget the screwdriver set. Once I get it sighted in a bit better it's going to be a shooter. Probably need to wear corrective glasses for sighting in - it's that far off. Win. T22 shoots well and locks the slide back every time. Remington Target wants to shoot but fails to lock the slide back 1/3 of the time. Hollowpoints of unknown brand are hotter and will not lock the slide back. Doesn't matter about grouping because there gone and I have no idea what they were! Slide lock is no big thing but I thought you should know.
Next range trip will be planned a bit better and I will have more/different ammo to test.
