Title: My 1911 thumb safety
Post by: Dakotaranger on September 18, 2007, 11:56:40 PM
Is there a way to loosen up the thumb safety on my 1911, for some reason it seams to have stiffened up the last couple of months.

I would check that you have not gotten some grit in the plunger tube, or possibly some buildup underneath the safety itself.

Double triple dittos on that !!!!   I have been present when an "adjusted" safety did a four shot burst in the lane next to me many years ago. I needed fresh underwear after that.

Do not store your viagra in the same case with your 1911.

Well, Sandy is my EDC but I doubt that has anything to do with the safety being stiff.

I ran a quick function test today.  The safety seams to be the only issue

Run not walk to the nearest Gunsmith for a complete evaluation.

Not just my opinion but just plain commonsense.  ;)
