Title: Fred Thompson visits a gun show in FL

http://www.sptimes.com/2007/09/16/State/Gun_show_welcomes_Tho.shtml  this is the only politician I've heard of in a long time to have the guts to visit a gun show....

I do not remember a national level candidate visiting a gunshow, ever.  Our state level people do, and they have been known to show up at shoots as well (and do actual shooting).

I may be mistaken, but I believe the republican party in Florida has prohibited any other candidates from appearing at gun shows.  I don't know how this works, and as of this moment I cannot back up my statement - its just something I read.  I will do some research.
