We are doing an early NRA Show kick-off with a giveaway.
It is a PistolCam® sponsored by Ten-X Ammunition, the distributor of this product which was originally aimed toward law enforcement and now also available for the civilian market as a tool for providing evidence in a self defense situation.
If you are attending the NRA Show in Phoenix this month, you can check it out at the Ten-X booth #3159.
You will also see video coverage (http://www.downrange.tv/blog/?page_id=6) from their booth during the show where we will talk more about the PistolCam and other products from Ten-X, one of them is a real interesting new reloading press.
Learn more about the giveaway and enter here (http://www.downrange.tv/giveaways/).

Looks like ya can Phil. They ask for 'country' on the entry form.

Thanks Ten-X and DRTV!
I look forward to continuing my "lucky" streak.

the 1st time I saw them, I thought they would be a great LEO tool( assuming they work well)... takes the sepcualtion about what happend. I know I would want one if I was a LEO.

Problem is, that there are no holsters modified to hold the gun with the camera attached, and attempting to attach the camera before using the gun will not go well for the LEO. There has been some use by P.D.'s with a tool in which the remote mic on the portable has a built in camera.
As the technology improves, might be a vialble tool.
-
a few years ago when I 1st saw these, they not only had holsters, drawing the pistol was how it was truned on.
-
It's a good thing I am not an LEO... I would get one of those and every bad guy that had that gun pointed at them would hear, "Hands up and say CHEESE!" ;D ;D
These types of attachments will be wonderful tools in either keeping a good cop out there, or getting rid of a bad one. How much difference it could make to see the "child" and "toy gun" from the perspective of the officer. Might end up making a big difference on how they are judged.
But either way it is Tacticool!

No live video from the Ten-X booth yet.

+10 on that. Think about how much safer we, and good cops, are as a result of the dashboard cams. A great tool, if it works.

New Forum Givaaway Rule !!!
Blame Rastus for this, but ...
From now on I get to play with every giveaway item ;D
Damn that blue and red Ruger is nice, and the new addition makes it even better even if it doesn't match!
-
I don't remember it I entered. Darn, old age. So I'm filling out the form. If it's duplicate, I'm not trying to cheat, just don't want to be left out.

Actually, Phil, M'ette told me you did win it, but since Australia just passed a law outlawing cool EBR accessories like lights, lasers, and especially the highly dangerous and evil imported rail-mounted combination light/lasers, she decided to give it to someone else.
just kidding . . . . ;D ;D ;D

Alright, ready for the range, but where is that darn pistolcam? Oh ya, waiting for it to ship. Please be sure to send it same day express. ;)

The machine has picked the winner:
It is Carmine D.R from Warwick, New York, on the forum better known as CDR.
Congratulations!
-
Congrats to you CDR. You WILL be posting porn WON"T YOU ? ;D
Of AND from ;D
-
I know SOMEONE is going to ask me to make a holster to fit the daggum thing.
-
Congrats CDR!
This should be an interesting new spin on the porn we see on here ;D
-
If it wasn't for BAD luck, I'd have none at all!!!!!
Congrats.

Congrats CDR! (you sorry, no good... ;D )

Thanks guys!!! I'm still in disbelief that I won the Pistolcam. The concept is absolutely brilliant and would have been a Godsend in cases like the Sean Bell shooting in NYC and subsequent trial of the three detectives involved in the incident. I especially like the fact that the camera is activated upon deholstering the pistol from a specially designed duty holster that is available.
As I wrote to Marshal last night when I received the e mail from him that I had won.......I NEVER win anything...contests, raffles, you name it. so this was quite a shock. Thanks Marshal, Theresa and Michael for making the contest possible and doing such a marvelous job with DRTV.
An interesting side note is that the Pistolcam.com website http://pistolcam.com/index.html shows several news videos identifying the Orange County, New York Sheriff's Dept. as being the first, and I believe only, police unit to have tested and is currently using the Pistolcam. That happens to be my local Sheriff's office, about 15 minutes from my house and the exact office where I had my CCW interview, fingerprints and background checks performed for my CCW a number of years ago.
Besides....it's made in New York....... ;D
Now I have the dilemma of not owning a gun with a rail on it as my autos are not of the polymer variety and the others are revolvers. What to do........thinking of a Glock 30SF, 19 or HK 45C, P30........any suggestions? I'm partial towards the 45 round as I typically carry a 1911 and have plenty of 45 ammo stored....but on the other hand, I don't own a 9mm. I'm sure you enablers will have some thoughts!!
Thanks again guys, it is very much appreciated. I've been here since the very beginning of DRTV and it is by far and away the best gun forum on the web. Home of the great Don Worsham (my favorite long time member), a rather feisty cat, and porn seekers. You guys are the best!!
Warm regards,
Carmine
