You don't even have a chance to fire autos do you, Phil?
BTW I believe Gatling guns don't even take a permit here.

I had a "wide grin" and I was just watching a video. With all the firepower that fella had, I would love/hate to see the ammo budget. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

That guy is Mike Dillon - makes the damn mini-guns, so of course he has plenty. I loved the quad-50 mount, I have always liked them since I built a halftrack model with one on it as a kid.
He also makes the Dillon reloading equipment, not to mention the guy who brought us The Blue Press. And Cathy . . . ;D ;D ;D

I must admit that I love the Blue Press ads. Phil W, too bad Australia is so tough on gun control. Bummer for you. Watching the video had given me a "permagrin" this fine Sunday morning and a itchy trigger finger. Gun range is closed today. Damn.
Phil, if you ever do make it to the USA, I really hope that you get to fire a weapon on full auto. Exhillirating experience and makes the hairs on the back of my neck stick up remembering the first time firing full auto with a M-16 and a M-60. I loved my M-60 but hated the E-3 versions. Loved seeing fields catch on fire from all the tracers down range and night shoots were the bomb. I have seen the aurora borealis and it still can't compare to a night fire with M-60's.

Phil,
If you ever come to the States and come to Florida, send me a message and I'll see if I can meet you. I'll take you to a range here where we can fire all of the full autos we want. I'll let you shoot my Valmet M76 (7.62 x 39) and I think you have a grin on your face when you leave...... ;D

Got to fire a supressed FA MP5...it was a blast but a terrible waste of ammo even back then (and it wasn't even my ammo)!!!!!

Shot an old SW 76 a while back. 9mm straight magazine(not clip) in the bottem. Fired at the chest of the target, hit it once and the rest went in the air. Began shooting 3 shot bursts. Aimed at the crotch. It would hit one crotch, one chest, and one head. Loved that gun. :)

You are correct sir, the Gatling gun isn't considered a machine gun by definition, so no law regarding it.
Machine Gun
-a small arm operated by a mechanism, able to deliver a rapid and continuous fire of bullets as long as the trigger is pressed.
That being said, I still can't afford one. Even if I already owned one, I sure as hell couldn't afford to shoot the thing.

Gun Store ( High end auction house ) near here had a US Navy model 5 Gatling with 2 cases of original 30/40 ammo $350,000

And you managed to resist? ;D

I would not even pick anything up from the rack after I looked over an odd looking lever rifle and found a" post-it" on the stock that said "First production Marlin $49,000"

Might be able to afford to shoot these....

One of the most fun guns I have ever shot was a full auto Mitchell Arms .22 lr that looked like an AK. It was about 20 years or so ago and I had just joined a local range/club. One of the members had several full auto's and this one would empty a mag quickly. Cheap to shoot, too.

here's a couple of the guns I was drooling over this last trip. unfortunately we didn't get a chance to fire them, maybe next time.

That's still too expensive. Just slap one of these (http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0005765223017a.shtml) on the Ruger 10/22. Hand cranked just like the Gatling. LOL!!!

A friend had one for a Mini-14 once.......real fun...but way expensive......even back when ammo was cheap.
