Title: Police Officer Shot in my Neighborhood, with an "AK".
Post by: twyacht on May 26, 2009, 05:45:18 PM
Happened over the weekend, 2 African American thugs, robbed a local auto parts store, LEO's gave chase into a neighborhood right up the street, and bailed out of the car and "invaded" a home and took 3 people hostage, during all the happenings, 1 BG
shot a local officer in the arms and legs. He is recovering in the hospital.

They than surrendered. No other injuries. They had prior records, and are really facing some heavy charges.

Our Local Sheriff, Duncan Foster gave a TV news interview, stating "Criminals can get these weapons now, and we need Federal Legislation to get these types of weapons off the street. They have no practical use in a urban environment." :o >:(

Here's a version of the story from one local station.

Officials plan blood drive after shooting

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities plan to hold a blood drive in honor of a South Florida police officer who is recovering after being shot with a semiautomatic rifle.

The Coral Springs Police Department will hold a blood drive Tuesday at a local park in honor of 27-year-old Officer Paul Kempinski.

Kempinski was shot multiple times Saturday night while pursuing armed robbers. He is expected to fully recover. Police spokesman Sgt. Joe McHugh said Kempinski might be released from a hospital next weekend.

Police say Kempinski was shot after an auto parts store was robbed.

Okay, not bad, not slanted. Just the news.

Here' the "Sun-Scum Sentinel" link, notice they are sure to get the "Assault Weapon" and AK-47, Even the brand, Norinco.

with caliber:

Since it happened so close, my wife asked me what would happen if our home was invaded?

I told her to stay low and get to the phone. The news would have had a different story. Since I have no kids in the house, they all just visit, there are "several" anti-home-invasion items strategically "hidden" around the house. ::)

And some people actually believe that said legislation would cause these weapons to magically disappear from the hands of the criminals.................... sounds like another blowhard idiot looking for camera-time.

Best wishes for the police officer for a full and speedy recovery.

I totally agree with the sheriff, we need laws to get these weapons off the streets and we need them now! Now if only we had laws that made shooting a cop illegal.... ::)

Funny you should use that word. Miami had a Mayor "loco" Joe caraiollo (sic) few years back. The corrupt, the crazy and and the feeble minded tend to thrive in Miami-Dade politics.

Coral Springs has really gone down hill since I lived there apparantly. But so has all of south fla. I remember when if you were a person of color you couldnt even rent in C.S. they would direct you to Margate, LOL

When I left here in 1987, C.S was exactly as you described. It seems after 20 years of being away, C.S. "annexed" unincorporated areas north and west that included, shall we say, "more ethnically diverse areas".

The pockets of older neighborhoods, are still here. My house was built in 1977, and I bought it from the 83 year old widow who lived here since the 80's. Yes the pink guest bathroom had to go, but the immediate area is large ranch style homes with established residents who maintain the original mindset of why I purchased in this area.

All in the name of economic development, larger tax revenues, (larger subsidized costs as well), has changed C.S.

Wilton Manors did the same thing, now they have really gained a diverse base: They have a "GayMart" and local chapter of the Rainbow Coalition.

Not that there is anything wrong with that,....

These type of people have selective memories. We had an "Assault Weapons" ban for 10 years and it did absolutely NOTHING to the crime rate, or help in "getting these weapons off the street". These people live in fantasy worlds where the government creates prosperity AND safety. They in fact do neither.   Bill T.

+1 on that!

This guy was elected right? Is what he said, what the majority of people in this area believe?
