I took the plunge and bought one of THOSE guns, the evil black ones.(I thought about naming it Pelosi, but figured that that would be cruel [to the gun]). ;D ;D Anyway, I have been looking at Saigas for a while and was torn between the .308 and 7.62 . I was leaning .308, but reviews put it as on par with the mini 14, eg minute of pie plate at 100 yards, but reliable. That being the case, I opted for the 7.62x39. Same accuracy, just less recoil, faster followups, and cheaper ammo. I just won an auction on gunbroker for one NIB, for $369. Basically the price before the BHO inspired panic. Its a fair deal and I am pleased. I thought about an AR variant, but .223 isnt quite enough for deer or hog and 7.62 is. The question is, what mags would folks reccomend? Any ideas about scope mounting? Sorry to trouble the group with this but I am a very, very happy camper right now. Kiss my ass Sarah Brady!

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Laugh it up rust bucket boy. BUT I now own an ASSAULT WEAPON, soon to be complimented with HIGH CAP CLIPS!!! ;D (sarcasm alert). I get to be on the list! Nothing can spoil my good mood right now. So we'll call it 7.62x39, but still + one for the libertarians.
