After multiple visits to the gun shop over the past few months I couldn't leave this wonderful thing behind even one more time....
Ruger Alaskan .44 Magnum (NIB). She's staying under my pillow tonight....I can't let her sleep in a cold drawer on her first night...she'll be scared. ::)
Our cat Harley likes her too......and says Hi to Haz

You must have a nasty polar bear problem up there in the Green Mountains. Remind me to wear a bell when I'm walking through those woods!
Good aquisition! ;D

You are much man Gunga Din,.....
That is a hand cannon for sure....
Let me know how dump truck season goes for you. Should be bagging them in short order..

You were speaking to Harley, right? ;D
Nope, the .44 seemed just about enough. Another location had the .454 but I figured I'd stay 'mainstream'. Don't want the other hikers thinking I've gone Hollywood on them.
-
You do not want a 454 that size . you will shoot it once and then leave it in the safe.

So I've read. I think this'll be just enough thank you very much. :)

The last .44 I shot was a Super Blackhawk, a handfull all by itself. I would think that little snubbie is gonna be a beast!
I'm with Haz, range report...... ;)

Or give it someone you don't like very much. ;D I still want video with range report. It might be as good as the .577 T-Rex (short for testosterone extender). Seriously Gringo, be sure there is nothing flammable in front of you when you fire that thing. The muzzle flash alone should be worth the price of admission. Don't get me wrong, I love the .44 mag, just in carbines. ;D

Unfortunately, it's going to be a few days for a range report. I'll have to fit it in to my work week as soon as I can. Dumbass me buying it after my day off. ???

Wolff spring kit...
This one doesn't look bad at all...Good grip required anyway.

That is one nice piece of whoop ass.

Nice catch.
I wouldn't mind one in .454, then you could shoot .45 Colt. I have the standard Redhawk in a 4" .45. I like the looks of the Redhawk better than the Super Redhawk. I've heard the lockwork is better in the Super and the Suoer Alaskan I think is even a little lighter than the 4" Redhawk.

Congrats! A 3-inch .44 isn't too bad. My S&W Trail Boss came Magna-Ported, so it recoils straight back. It's still a lot of fun.
-
GMG...Don't forget to wear protective headgear!!! Recoil should be right up there in a snubby!

Nice Piece, Gringo!!! I had been eyeing those for awhiile when they first came out and then decided not to, but man, what a heater! Looking forward to the range report.
-
Congrats Gringo!!! Looking forward to the range report.. How's the .44mag ammo situation in your neck of the woods?
-
Nice addition Gringo. It will beat the hell out of owning a Skyy, lol. Looking forward to the range report. You got more balls than me owning a .44 Cal. Some reason they have always made me nervous. :)

My SKINNY 15 year old shoots pig with a .44 handgun! Did it when he was 13 and about 90 lbs soaking wet.

I know it is silly Haz but a true story. ;D I just need to find someone who owns one and put a few rounds downrange to get over the butterflies. I have pretty much fired everything else, but not a .44 Mag., .454 Casull nor the .500.
