Title: "High Profile" Gun Violence In the U.S. Since 1997
Post by: ericire12 on June 10, 2009, 02:37:00 PM
This is laughable...... and filled with a lot of fluff:

http://www.bradycampaign.org/facts/highprofile/
(Consider the source)

The six that are listed in my state (SC), I had never even heard of -- and I pretty much watch the local news every night. One also simply said "Four men were shot near a home" ...... not really sure if that qualifies as "high profile"  ::)

Notice also that they give no sources for this or anyway to look up a news report for any actual shooting they cite.

Notice that the biggest clusters are in places with strict gun laws ? NYC, Boston, Chicago, LA, the one in Fla clusters around Palm Beach, Miami, Liberty City, HMMM, is there a trend here ? TAB would say no.

Bunch of Brady wankers. If you click on the far left blue dot in N.E. Texas you'll see a story about a perp with an AK vs lots of officers. What they don't show or tell you is about the brave officers and the one who ended this mess with a Punkin Head shot from his trusty AR15. They also don't mention in the video but the perp was in full body armor. Check the You Tube link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ws76O6Lqm74

As I remember the head shot was actually a ricochet off the bed of the truck.

That's it?  In ten years and THREE HUNDRED MILLION people that's it?  More people probably die during a SINGLE weekend of driving, or house hold accidents.  When TENS OF THOUSANDS of people start getting shot on a nightly basis let me know.  But don't bother me with this crap Brady, you having to compile ten years of incidents so the numbers look big, even then they don't warrant some crisis, doesn't convince me.

honestly, I've never even heard of most of them...example the one in wilton CA, it happend in may  27 of this year, never heard of it.  wilton is a small town about 25 miles away.   you would think since it happen 16 days ago and well with in broadcast range of all the local stations( hell 2 have towers in wilton)  I would know something about it.  yet this is the 1st time i've heard about it.

if you also notice, they mainly happen in big citys.  look at how many tx has had.  tx is supose to be gun friendly.

We is, most of our crime is Mexican drug related, gangs in San Antone and Houston, most recently with Katrina folk bringing their violent gang ways here.  Some of that is going away though.  I'd bet money that most of their listed shootings are criminal on criminal gang shootings, and a few crazies here or there.  Take the guns away from gangs and they'll just stab each other, take them away from the crazies and they'll just use the other ten thousand ways you can kill a human.  Brady ought to start an anti violence campaign, not an anti gun one, like we all say, 'I've never seen a gun hurt anyone.'
