I've had several incidents, both reported to the Police and was told, "It's your word against his, there were no witnesses".
So to avoid the insolvable I went on my way.
It raises the question -
What has to happen before you can press chages against someone for a "crime" nobody saw?
What is the threshold of offence that makes charges stick?

Video....
Seriously, property theft, B&E etc,... get video,.. SD is different. 911 operator on the phone even if you set the phone down, leave it on with the operator on the other end for the AUDIO.
What happened?
Without giving away more than you want to, a little more info could provide something more helpful..

Ditto what tw said. It would depend on the offense. I had one incident where my car windshield was smashed. I knew exactly who did it, but didn't have any proof other than my personal conviction. That is the nature of the "beast". The Mob's been dealing with it for years. If there is no body is there a murder? The "beyond a reasonable doubt" sticky wicket.
