New Jersey Senate to Vote on One-Gun-A-Month Tomorrow!
NJ Action Alert: S1774 “One Gun-A-Month” Up for Surprise Vote
Please Contact Your State Senator Today!
National Rifle Association
Trenton, NJ - -(AmmoLand.com)- Under the direction of Governor Jon Corzine (D) and with little notice to the public to ensure that New Jersey sportsmen and gun owners were not prepared to defend their Second Amendment rights from gun rationing schemes; the New Jersey State Senate today added S1774 “One Gun-A-Month” to tomorrow’s voting agenda.
Simply stated, this bill would prohibit an individual from purchasing more than one handgun within a 30-day period. The state already requires an individual to first obtain a permit to purchase – a process which includes an extensive criminal background check and a minimum of 30 days to complete. This bill, as proposed, is just another step that anti-gun legislators are trying to take to erode our Right to Keep and Bear Arms.
If passed, this bill gives anti-gun extremists carte blanche to further hinder your right to purchase firearms. Next it could be one rifle or shotgun per 30-day period or even one handgun per six months or year.
Please contact your State Senator TODAY and urge them to oppose this unwarranted and unjustified attack on our Second Amendment freedoms. Contact information for your State Senator can be found by clicking here.
Sample Letter: ——————————————————————————
Dear Senator;
The S1774 “One Gun-A-Month” bill is suddenly and without due process up for a vote.
Please Vote NO on this anti-gun anti-second amendment bill.
All I can say is what if you could only use your right to free speech once a month?
I am an active voter and gun owner and hope you will be doing the right thing by Voting NO and killing this anti American bill once and for all.
Sincerely.

Yeah, they REALLY sprung this one...like yesterday afternoon!
What a bunch of fairy bastards. This is the kind of cheap crap that gives government a bad name.
-
I just caught it on the internet that the bill failed by one vote...MY MAN (Democrat) Jeff Van Drew. He came out to our sportsmans club one night and swore he'd stand up for us, and he did. YAAY!!!

You are a lucky guy Jaybet! Actually we are all lucky, because if this crap gets a foothold anywhere it will spread. Any wedge, anywhere, will go deeper and deeper until the whole nation is tipping beyond saving.
How solid is your club with Second Amendment Rights? Our club had too many members that would bargain our rights away in the name of comprimise. I fear that our club would tell our leaders that this was ok, right along with class 3, conceal carry, "large" caliber, high capacity, bayonets (gotta keep them drive by stabbings from happening), and any number of other "scary" things.

Rare indeed a politician that stands up for gun rights and keeps his word.

Local club here sucks to. They have their Friends of NRA Dinner in a place owned by an anti gun activist, and they refused to let the local Republicans have a machine gun shoot because of the noise, but they have CAS, NRA high power, and IDPA Shoots every month, (I have no problem with those, it's the PC cowardice that galls me ). I worked with one of the Range Directors and he told me he was voting B O, after I got done ripping him a new ass he never mentioned politics to me again, nor have I had anything to do with anything that group is involved with.
-
Our club is pretty conservative...you'd be surprised how many rednecks live in NJ. We try to push our agenda quietly though. Our state is pretty damn DAmocrat, and we try to keep our heads down. All you need is the DEP or EPA or some other a**hole department coming up with crazy stuff and you've got a fight on your hands.
We keep quiet and try to promote responsible gun ownership. Oh...and once a month we throw a fishing rod on top of our car because we're actually a "Sportsman's Club".

Make sure to thank him!
....with a campaign contribution!

OOPS! Not so fast!
It seems the report I received was from the LAST time they tried to vote it in. This time, by springing the vote on everyone last minute and voting in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT (on the governor's orders I hear) they passed it 27-16. Now it is on the Gov's desk waiting to be signed into law and we are screwed. He doesn't listen to real people. He's a rich a**hole who knows more than anyone else.
I am really disgusted and have emailed many of the senators that voted for and against. AND I emailed the Gov, telling him that sleazy political tricks are not what we voted our representatives into office for. I urged him strongly not to sign the law because we will all remember in the voting booth this fall. Unfortunately, he just doesn't give a s***. He's got enough money to buy the office.
I am completely disgusted.

Three words. Remember in November! And make sure you let the incumbent, and the person you vote for (or at least not against) know why.

Next years elections,...........

Really sorry Jay. That just sucks peanut butter. We all thought that you were off the hook, just to find out that sleezy late night antics turned the tide. Really, really hate that one.
