She's wrong right from the beginning when she says this has never been done in America. During both the Civil War and WWII US citizens were locked up indefinitely and with out trial for reasons of "National Security".
As to being "surprised" that the socialist illegal alien bastard would propose such a thing ? Well I'm not, it is standard practice for tyrants to lock up opponents with out trial or after a trial using faked or "Tainted" evidence.

Don't matter Tom, here we have a lady ( and I use that term loosely) that hates the republic and the right, and has bashed the constitution and 2A and has done everything but kissed BHO on the ass. She is now seeing the light, as I suspect many other Lefty's will do./ This is a profound shift into the truth of what BHO is all about. When the left turns , which it will do, blood will run down capitol hill .

I hope it's literal not just a figure of speech.

MSNBC actually questioning, maybe even turning, on BHO.

There may be hope yet.

This aired on May 23, just over a month ago.  I guess I have not seen much evidence that this has caused much change in the way the left blindly supports Obama.

Let me say this. Rachel Maddow is my favorite evening "news' anchor. Not because I agree with her, (I don't about 2/3 of the time) but just because she is educated on the issues (Oxford Ph.D in polisci) but most of all she doesn't yell. Its not the shout fest of Matthews, O'Reilly or Hannity. She does let opponents actually speak, so you have a debate (where you might learn something) rather than a shouting match (all heat, no light). I would also note that she is  a gun owner. She hunts and fishes. Hardly a stalwart of the 2A, a fuddette on her best day, but still someone who can be (hopefully) educated.

Hell FQ, we're all still hoping that YOU are someone who can (hopefully) be educated some day.   ;D

If you want me there for 2A, 1A, immigration, or property rights, I've got your six. If you want me to be a social conservative, no chance in hell.

All you can do is what you can do.  Afterall, the only face you have to see in the mirror is your own.

She may be 'educated'...but every time I've ever seen her on any show, she has had such a condescending manner when discussing politics. Seems as if she thinks any other idea, other than one that agrees with hers, is stupid.

Now that's just my opinion, FWIW........

I could be wrong.....

I have been before.

You are not wrong. Thats sort of an occupational hazard, and one that irritates me. Look at Rush, Hannity, Olberman, Mathews etc. They all have "the" answer. They just treat their guests with varying degrees of condecension. When was the last time you saw someone like Ted Koppel or David Frost who just let someone talk and actually explain what they believed and why? I think Maddow comes closest of the shout-O-vision hosts but she ain't there yet, not by a long shot. I wonder what it will take to get the networks to realize that I don't want to see who can "win" a shouting match, but to actually listen to both sides making ther best case and make up my own mind?

I was in no way, shape, fashion, or form meaning that she was mutually exclusive in that regard.    ;D

Edward R. Murrow died on April 27, 1965....that was the begining of the end as far as journalism goes.

All of the "state run" media are shills for BHO. Maddow is a disgusting excuse for an objective reporter who along with her "liberal" friends laughed at the Tea parties, and used obscene terms to reflect homosexual behavior on true patriots. Just your kind of girl HUH FQ13.

A. I'm not really sure what sexual preference has to do with patriotism, as loving your country has nothing to do with sex last time I checked. (If I've missed a memo please PM me).
B. "My kind of girl" likes men, so Rachel is sort of out of the running, unless she wants to convert, in which case I will most definately volunteer.
Beyond that, your point was what?

The question I have today is this:

Did the Obama crowd know during the campaign that what President Bush and his administration was what had to be done (right, wrong or otherwise) and lie and mislead the voters, or did they realize once in office and in a position to make change that it was the best way to handle the situation and now don't know how to do it without saying "Mr. Bush was doing the best he could for the nation, and we will do the same?"

His entire speech, or at least what was presented in the seven plus minute clip, seemed to be a very uncomfortable delivery of "I sure hope I don't have a message on my machine that says "this is W ... I told you so.""  For a smooth and slick message giver, Pres. BHO was really having a hard time getting the double speak out on that day.

No, The BO crew knew during the campaign that it had to be done and lied and misled the voters, and now they are doing the same thing while saying "Bush was a terrible man for doing X, So I've stopped all that and now I'm going to do X" while hoping that the attention span of voters will not last the length of the sentence.
I could not believe this dumb bitch actually referred to his repeated use of the phrase "Rule of Law" as "POETIC". Another shining example of college education.

My point is that her reporting is not fair and balanced, demeaning people for their patriotism by uttering slurs is so intellectual as you pointed out she is. And you either missed my whole point or read into it words that were not there as you usually do. I dont have the patience to lead you by the hand on a subject that you are obviously unable or unwilling to understand in a rational manner.

My response to you was a bit snarky. I apolgize for the tone. I think my opinion of Maddow was summed up in my response to Peg, eg the best of a bad lot, none of whom do the job they should be doing.
