Title: A political wife with some principles
Post by: fightingquaker13 on June 26, 2009, 09:02:45 PM
Forget Hillary, Elizabeth Edwards, Mrs. Spitzer or Mrs. Vitter
Here is someone who knows when to say good riddance to bad rubbish. None of this standing by the philanderer in a press conference and suffering the 2nd helping of humiliation, but rather saying; you betrayed, me our children and screw you. May there be more like her. Well done Jenny Sanford.

A politician's wife with some gumption, it's long overdue.

No, it was just putting ambition over principle. If she'd kicked his ass to the curb, it would be an even money bet as to whether she'd have been president right now. No one likes a pushover and all her "strong woman" talk was belied by the fact that Bill, not once in a moment of weakness, but repeatedly, slept with someone her daughter's age.And she put up with it. I will never forget when the Starr report came out. Myself, and two of my friends as well as a senior professor had gathered in a fellow TA's office (who always kept a 12 of Shiner in his mini-fridge) to read it. We were ROFL reading the descriptions of the cheap "sort of" sex (just like the man couldn't figure out how to smoke pot, he apparently couldn't figure out how to get laid either). We shut up and hid the beer when we heard students walking down the hall. I kind of killed the mood, when I mentioned that Chelsea, who was an undergrad at Stanford at the time, might have had a similar experience. Walking back from classes and hearing her profs laughing about how her dad was jerking off in the sink after playing with someone two years older than her. Any woman who ignores that level of humiliation, betrayal, and harm to her child, is worthless. Again I give kudos to Jenny Sanford. Don't cry for me, Argentina, his ass is gone, and I want the house! ;D

I remember when someone ask John McCain what Cindy would do in Hillary's position and he responded something to the effect of "I'd be lying on the floor in a pool of my own blood, listening to the sirens in the background, while she said 'How the hell do you reload this thing?'"

Too bad he doesn't have a better history of fidelity himself.
