Title: Show lead ins
Post by: Hazcat on October 10, 2007, 06:13:52 PM
MB, Marshal,

Shotgun Journal does NOT belong on Wednesdays.  It need to be moved to Thursday (I believe) when they have the bird shooting (turkey, dove, gun dogs etc).  Honestly, as I said before it reminds me of Masterpiece Theater or some such "blue blood" show.

I would venture that the people that watch Cowboys and SG are not going to be interested in Shotgun Journal and vise versa.

At least swap Realtree Roadtrips and Shotgun Journal.

I have to disagree with you guys.

It is just another form of shooting.  They do tend to lean towards "gentleman" shotgun sports and hunting, but tonight was an example of shotgun sports.  They also do a very fine job of touring fine arms makers factories, museums and gunsmiths.

I personally love many areas of shooting and participate in everything from archery (something not covered on Wednesdays), precision and action handgun and long gun, trap, skeet, sporting clays, and have even tried full auto competition.  The only shooting that I can think of that I haven't done (but am trying to get into) is SASS.  Damn, I do so much shooting and reloading that we don't have a piece of luggage that we can get through an airport without a detailed search (too much gunpowder residue showing up on TSA's little handi wipes), and even my boots and jackets show residue or upset their search dogs.

It is impossible for any one host or show to be everything for everyone, but Wednesday Night On The Range comes close to covering something for everyone.  In these days of fighting for our rights and the need for more involvement in shooting sports, we need to expose every area of shooting sports possible.

If you don't the show, maybe it would be a good time to go grill a steak, wash the car or snuggle with the wife.  Heck, I've even tried bullriding, but I find that there is an hour every Wednesday evening that I can go do something other than watch the Outdoor Channel.

Did'nt change the channel. Did notice the change. End of the year filler i would guess.
Better than a rerun unless it's SG or COWBOY'S.
