Read an article (http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/02/16/europe/EU-GEN-Austria-Iran.php) over at the Ruger forum about Glock selling 30,000 pistols to Iran. Being a current and possibly future Glock owner this disturbs me greatly. I am going to email Glock and see what they have to say about this. The article was on rugerforum.com in the "lounge" section if anybody wants to read it for themselves.

I guess the international media has been humming an Alan Jackson country song lately:
"...I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran..."
Glock sold their guns to IRAQ!
Here's the correction as published in the International Herald Tribune on 16 February:
http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/02/17/europe/EU-GEN-Austria-Iran.php
(http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/02/17/europe/EU-GEN-Austria-Iran.php)
VIENNA, Austria: In stories Feb. 16 and Feb. 17 about weapons sales, The Associated Press, citing Austrian news media reports, erroneously reported that Austrian authorities approved the export of 30,000 handguns to Iran. The weapons were sold to Iraq, not Iran.

Man what a relief. It made me sick when I first read it. Good thing I could not find Glocks email I was ready to rip them. Just goes to show you not to jump to conclusions like I did. But thank goodness for formats like this where we can get the real story.
