I LOVE FOAMY. (warning, adult language)

Working in the past as a Radio Shack employee and manager I had to ask every customer and maintain a 90% or better average of getting names and address.
That was ok, but when they took on Sprint and started offering home phone and especially the LD service I HATED it so much!!!

But RS could tout that they did have a massive direct mailing due to asking people for there info, and most of the time they gave it.

Well I got sick of it, most customer got sick of it. And now like the cartoon demonstrates many business are doing it to extremes. Credit cards, discount cards, and the like are getting annoying. Do you know what these business do with the data they collect.  (http://www.smileyx.com/smilies/scared0014.gif)


On the lighter note, I do love the "tech support" episodes.

THAT WAS A GOOD LAUGH  ;D , but it is to true everywhere you go these days! :P I can deal with the discount cards but, the Credit Cards f :-X n piss me off. ???

Two days ago, I was asked for my phone number and zip code - all I said was No! very definitively, and that was it. But yes, it is happening more and more these days. I was laughing all the way thru, quietly so I could understand the little blue-ish thingee with the foul mouth.

In my company's point of sale system we get the customer's name, address and phone number, but it's never used for anything other than to identify them in the case of a warranty issue with something they've bought.

I hate asking for it, but even the most hesitant will cooperate once I explain that it's so that we can verify the warranty of their purchase if they should have a problem with the merchandise.
