http://gradegov.com/report_card.php Maybe a wake up call for the Dems haha read the right hand column and see where your rep rates. Hint if he or she is a demoicrap you have to start way way way down the list. ;D ::) :o

Not too bad. All my reps are B+. Not as good as I would hope, but two out of the three are freshmen.

Wonder how long before that disapears. It just HAS to be biased, you know.
Nice to see Murtha in a respectable 521'st place. ;D

Yeah, a site where you (anyone knowing about the site) rate your congressman rating all Repugnants as angels and Dems as devils shows where America really stands. Pay no attention to the fact American voted out a govt ruled entirely by Rep and voted in one totally Dem. Nope, not biased. Gee, it is on the inernets, it must be true! :D

3 for 3 - all Dems, all F's
And onrecess, the pubbies didn't do all that great. Biased or not, all 3 of the folks here are generally very well liked by the state constituents, they tend to vote well on ag issues, and Pomeroy even gets an A from the NRA. Maybe this is a fairly accurate (albeit biased) reflection of the past 6 months and the spend it all attitude so prevalent in Congress and the WH these days.

I'll bet money you voted for BO. In case you haven't noticed this is an AMERICAN site. We are not Citizens of the world, nor do we want to be. If the European style socialism being advocated by the Dums is so wonderful, why are there so many of them here ?

Well, if we are seriously talking public opinion of officeholders in general, everybody hates them all but still votes for THEIRS, if he is in their party. ;D A dem majority site would bias toward dems and rep to reps. We all know that. And that no-tax and spend like madmen thing certainly hasn't gotten WORSE since the admin changed parties. It hasn't changed a whit. I believe one party WANTS to spend us into bankruptcy to stop social programs and the other just wants to spend us into bankruptcy. :-\ At least right now they have the excuse they are trying to stop another great depession (though I'm not silly enough to believe they would stop spending that same way even if it was fixed tomorrow!) I wouldn't trust either one with my debit card.

Not at all true.
The Dems had a two year head start in the House (Dems won control of the house in the November 2006 elections).....so it wasn't totally controlled by the Republicans at the last election.

Okay, it took two elections, a mid term and a pres one. ??? Does that matter? Seems like 2 years of Dem House control didn't change people's minds about the two parties. Seems to actually make my argument stronger, yes? Still, we all hate everybody elses congressmen and vote for ours no matter what he does as long as he is in our party. Adultery, stealing, swimmimg away (at the least) from Mary Joe Whatever to let her drown, being found with your secretary lover dead of a bashed in skull in your office (Joe Scarsburo, laughably enough at the same time that Dem guy was sure to have killed HIS - except it turns out he didn't and it was bs to use politically, though at least Joe had he decency to step down and become an "honorable" member of the 4th , dang old age, 4th estate is it(?) rather than see it come out in the press), there is no sin too great- no crime too low. You are on "our" team and you get our vote. The real independents (not the ashamed to claim their party) are the only ones who change things when they get fed up. Was Democrat tax and spend, (maybe the public tiring of the Vietnam War), now Republican don't tax but spend and tear up the constitution. The non-believers got fed up again. (To y'all Repubs: Don't fret, the Dems will sooner or later actually do something to get that middle fed up again. Power corrupts and all that. Assuming they get past their fear of the 95% right wing owned "liberal" press and actually DO anything. Don't call em soft on terror or liberals or country haters! They will do, or not do rather, anything to avoid THAT. Did you see the joke about the refusal to say anything about that Jacko freak- not because he was a freak- that would require a spine, but because the press would, shudder, criticize. Good grief, some black folks think he was a great star and not a perv. Still, better not say that out loud. At least the Repugnants we threw out had the nads to laugh in all our faces and sneer while making funny jokes about lies of WMDs. Sure, they are scumbags and traitors, but at least they weren't spineless. You know if Cheney was a Jacko fan he would praise him to the moon and call anyone who pointed out the guy was a perv a dirty traitor on all the talk shows. In Texas, for some reason, we always admired bold scum who would smile in your face and ruin you with dirty tricks. Ask any Texan. Wierd, but true. I'll bet most Texans admire Cheney- even the half who think he is scum.)

............ And that no-tax and spend like madmen thing certainly hasn't gotten WORSE since the admin changed parties. ........
Lack of truth alert. Sleight of hand here...no-tax is not the position of the administration and spend like a madman certainly is true...both antithesis to the post referenced.
.........Still, we all hate everybody elses congressmen and vote for ours no matter what he does as long as he is in our party. ........
Thankfully, not everyone believes as you do. Certainly not the bulk of the people on this board. You may have a bad habit of thinking you know people and "how they really are", that may be interpreted as being arrogant and unconscionable.

Mine was rated 131 with a B-. Quite honestly, with his complicity in some of the Boarder shennanigans of late, I would have moved him a lot lower on the list. ::)

Why the hell does every idiot teacher in Florida think they somehow know what a Texan thinks??
I don't really care if you continue to post your liberal sewage because all it does it make you look even more foolish due to the fact that you actually believe that BS. Just keep you comments and thoughts about the great state I love to yourself and out of your ass-hair tangle of a comment.

I have seen free ass kickings handed out for talking bad about our state. Don't bad mouth my country. >:( In fact, I've seen two drunks arguing over who the better Texan was get into a fight. ;D

I dated a couple Texans... for quite awhile in fact.. It was....each time... ..........well.. an experience.. :D They all were pretty full of themselves.. *why I still can't understand* ::) They found out that their over blown inflated egos couldn't hold up to my Kansas redneck "needle ego popper".. They eventually slinked off with their tail between their legs... ;D ;D
Funny thing is.. they both kept calling me even after I dumped them with all the reasons why.. Guess they just "loved" the abuse.. ((But I'm "sure" you are different than that ..aren't you T_B... )))

Ahh, raised there I think I'm qualified. Also, it might be I don't care much. ;D Try to see the humor in it, y'all know it's true. Hey True Texan I don't really get my shorts in much of a knot about which group of thieves anyone prefers. Didn't know any people in Texas in my life who thought either one was, as another Texan (with a lower regard for his own class than most) liked to say, "Worth a pitcher of warm spit." Sort of like what kind of lawyer (which they all are on top of everything else!) do you like best. Heck, TexasBryan, in Texas I've seen fighting in icehouses over who can spit furthest when both were to drunk to spit past their lip. Fights about who is the best Texan is probably the number one drunken fight reason. Maybe we should have a "Texas Drunken Fight Reason Top Ten " list. Heck, it would probably top number 2,, "I was next on the pooltable." Run down to the 411and a half in Houston across from my old pipefitter hall and right behing Texas Pipebending where I used to work. Don't know if there are any of the old union guys left after Houston's 80's collapse, but that place used to be WILD. You best not play the pool table unless you want to fight, somehow the simple lining up of quarters ended up clearing the place once a night. Of course, it is about the size of a two car garage, so even a little fight drove everybody out (I'd say the door had there been one other than roll down garage doors) or into the fight when they got a bop. I still have the deviated septum from that dive. Ah, what a blast that was when the union meetings would end and way too many union brothers would try to fit in there- being the next nearest ice house was out by 146. Too bad the whole oil patch collapse ruined Houston in the 80's, I used to live up in Porter. Nice country place, Porter was. Used to be way out back then, though I couldn't hardly even find it last time I went through Houston. Become a freakin' suburb, and not even close to the edge of Houston- but now it is way INSIDE of Houston. Heck, same in Kemah where I went to high school. Was way outside until Nasa moved to Clear Lake City and Houston stretched down 25 miles or so and swallowed it all up. Drove out to my sister's in Sealy, now even that is right at the edge of Houston. Biggest city I ever saw, at least square miles wise. Yeck! Aint enough Texans there either, TB.

I'll fight ya that I know the most reasons. ;D And Houston is now the monster in the room that I try to avoid. I don't know much about unions but, other than the evils of organized labor, it sounds like good times.

Marshallete, We Texans do love us some red heads, strawberry blonds are worth fighting over ;)
Now back on track, or post as you will.
The next election will tell, all else is conjecture. I have my opinion that 2010 will be exactly like 1994, a huge turn over. It takes a lot to get voters or just people off their asses, but I think this current admin is one of them. Got another year and change to find out.
Onrecess, I'm from Houston, great place to be from, most of my family was there and now dead or moved, with their new police chief and his hiring habits, the DA's are horrible as far as ccw, you got a pistol, regardless of license or not, it gets confiscated, and hopefully you don't go to jail, that is corruption, not following the rules even though the Texas legislature went to great effort to make the law inpenetrable, what can be done, it will take the Rangers going in and arresting the chief to make a difference, and that is not on their radar.
Next, all legislators are crooks, and billion or millionaires? I like my reps, that is the rub with it, I know other places in the country where there are basically lords or barons, but the constituency won't vote them out. My senators not so much, but vote my way 90%, some of the 10% really hurt. My congress people I really like, I helped one defeat another, and his district got switched due to gerrymandering, and he is no longer my rep, but, I keep tabs on him, as I fought for him, my only complaint is he said 2 tours and no more, it has now been 5, but I don't want to replace him. This is the conundrum.
I'm 1st to say throw the bums out, all of them , and lets start anew. In the end, that is the only power we have!!! but it is not a power unless we use it. I know libs who are conservative, which I'm sure you know I am by now. and conservatives with thin spines. On your previous arguments about the current and past state of administrations, Carter cowtowed to the terrorists, and we had a long stand off with Iran holding our people hostage, that ended on inauguaration night with Reagan coming to office, ( note I did not say to Power ) . Clinton allowed Bin Laden to escape with full knowledge. George H, signed an executive order banning imports of so called Assault weapons, that cost him the election, and dumbasses like me believed Bill. Dumbasses like me worked phone banks and sign building parties and brought about the 1994 turnover. Dumbasses like me will man phonebanks again and sign building parties for the next leader, I am sorry to say, I don't know who, I like Sarah Palin, but she probably won't be a front runner for pres, but vice pres.
Cheney, whats not to like, he was a vice pres, but contributed, and backed up his pres, more than George W did himself, He did not go for pres, just did his job and walked away, but is still savvy enough to give good argument to BO. If you consider and you should, the candidates former jobs, or vocations, it will have baggage, as all of us probably do. But what does it matter against what they actually can do for us. George W's wire tapping in a time of war, is acceptable, We don't call it a war anymore, but why? Troops all around the world, and yet we are not at WAR. After the war, these things should be called back. I guess after we disarm all our nukes. We did declare war this time, not like Vietnam.

I hope and believe that you will be proven right. The winds of change are blowing (Not that kind of "Change"). ;D
We are in desperate need of a major Congressional turn over. Something has to take place to slow down the insanity and we can't afford to wait until 2012.

First of all, Cheney has made A LOT of money for Texas based companies. Second, here in Wyoming, we have A LOT of admiration for our native. After all, if you look at what he's doing now, going after BHO for his foreign policy disaster, why would he do that besides true belief? At this point, what does Cheney have to gain by remaining in the public light? Although, he polls higher than queen Pelosi.

Funny stuff! You guys are all so funny with your state pride...it's really nice to see people proud and able to jostle without getting really angry. I live in the nice part of NJ and I'm proud of that, but I don't think we have anything like, "I'm a proud New Jerseyan"...it even sounds stupid doesn't it? Like I'm proud of my shirt, or something. Although we ARE a bit proud when we start talking about Pennsylvania people or New Yorkers.
...And you would be surprised because in the south end we have a LOT of what you might call "rural" type folks? Some of them are pretty funny too. There's one old guy who has had a sign up on his property along a state highway for over 30 years that says, "Shoobies go home". (Shoobie is a nasty term for tourists, because way back when they would bring their lunches in shoe boxes and not spend any money at the shore.) Well just about five years ago he thought of something better. He went out and added a second sign up on the pole above the original sign. It says, "Tourist Information" with an arrow pointing down to the original sign. It only took him 30 years to add the sign and I laughed my ass off.

NH doesn't have one that says Massholes go home, We went one better, it says "Liquor store next exit" We get half their money for the cheap booze and the other half for bail. ;D
