I wouldn't want to be first in line to get something new like that. I think it would be fun but the Mech-Tech CCU has been around for years and it's a proven design.

Wouldn't that be illegal as yer puttin a butt stock on a handgun?

Not if you put a 16" barrel on it too. This kit looks shorter and therefore illegal.

No different than a tec-9 with collapsible stock. Safe here believe it or not.

YES ! and the $499 is only for the kit. buying it is legal, assembling it will land you in jail unless you have a 16+ inch barrel

Even there it sounds sketchy. 2 problems,
1, if all I have to do is take the 2 seconds to replace the 4" barrel with the 16" is that going to fly with ATF. If I recall TC guns had to make it impossible to put fixed stocks on their pistol models.
2 Will the recoil spring and guide rod handle the weight of a 16" barrel even if it is legal? I think I'll wait for the factory model.

Not sure, with the original barrel and Pings Tec 9 with stock or a broom handle Mauser with stock, its FEDERAL they re NFA weapons (Short Barrel rifles) As far as I know ATF doesn't care about going bigger than original.
You are mistaken about the the T/C pistols all the receivers are identical. I used to get stuck machining them once in a while.

Thanks, I just had this vague recollection that you could lose the stock on a rifle but not add one to a pistol, but its been many years.
FQ13 who is still not buying the carbine :-\

You can get in trouble if you have the pistol barrel on a Carbine stock, but there isn't anything to stop you.

I still do not see how it is legal to put a shoulder stock on a pistol with less than 16 inch barrel.

I cannot do this to my Redhawk (or other guns).

Pay a tax, like for an original Broomhandle Mauser with the holster that doubles as a butt stock. It's an NFA thing.
