I would figure they'd hug him for bringing communism to the west! I mean isn't his governing style modeled after the Russian Mafia?

No, they are HONEST thieves.
Of course they won't shake his hand, Russians are some of the most racist people out side New Orleans and he is just a Yankee (allegedly )  shwartzer.
