Schumer Threatens Filibuster Over Concealed Carry Reciprocity
New York State - -(AmmoLand.com)- New York Sen. Charles Schumer announced Friday that he would do all it takes to prevent Bill S. 845 β a bill that will establish concealed carry reciprocity amongst the majority of US states, from passing the Senate including a filibuster.
βTo say that someone who gets a license in another state can then take their gun into Central Park or into Eisenhower Park without any checking with local law enforcement is appalling and could affect our safety,β Schumer (D-N.Y.) said in a recent interview.
Schumer, estimated the amendment has the support of about 55 senators and pledged a filibuster to prevent a vote on the amendment if necessary.
In typical gun banner rhetoric Shumer is portraying this bill as trampling the existing gun laws of states like NY when the fact is this bill clearly spells out that all concealed carry holders when visiting a state other than their own would be bound by gun laws of that state.
This bill will do nothing more than allow CCW holder from other states the confidence to know that any state with reciprocity will honor their CW permit from their home state.

I am making political contacts today!
How can he say and justify that stance when he does not require the same of drivers ???
Driving a vehicle, any vehicle, is not a Constitutionally protected Right; motor vehicles have been proven to be deadly, both accidently and intentionally; motor vehicles have been proven to cause air quality issues in large cities, and Central Park, even at their most efficient; enforcing of vehicle laws and maintaining roadways is supposedly more costly than fuel taxes and license fees provide; motor vehicles and their use also emit greenhouse gases and contribute to global warming ;) ; but there is no out cry to restrict drivers.
Just my forty-two cents worth with a sarcastic spin >:(

I say force him to filibuster.

This should really come as no surprise. This douchebag never met a gun control measure or gun ban that he didn't like.
Someone should point out to him that failure to pass this measure is "appalling and could affect the safety" of law-abiding gun owners who might be visiting (and leaving their money in) the state he purports to represent.
Sorry Chuckles, but any vacation plans I might've had that included your state are hereby canceled.
Friggin liberal asshat.

Once he realizes he can get tax money out of this, he will back down.

Amendment II: Right to bear arms and militia.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
What part of that can't these assholes understand ?

You said a mouthful there.

The part that places limits on their power
I got the parts that limits their power right here.
1/2 inch 100% Manila hemp and tree. ;D
There's 545 people that need to die to make America a better place.

Half inch hemp is too thin - 5/8" is better, but you still might decapitate them with something that thin. Makes the rope really yucky and messy for the next one.
OTOH, that's only a concern if you drop them. If you pull them up to the branch or lamppost, 1/2" probably won't be a problem.
This is what I get for watching Wild West Tech! ;D

My first thought was piano wire.

Let him filibuster, tie up senatorial time for days, let him show the sheeple Chucky standing up there for days on end, ranting on,....
Let this be the hill he dies on....What's left of the GOP with any balls, should tell him to put up or shut up.
-
If he filibusters this bill, he should be told that the health care bill will be filibustered in retaliation. I think that might get him to think twice....
-
Everybody get on the phone and call Charlie's office. Tie up his phone lines for days or as long as he filibusters. Or better yet just exclude New York, and those of us who carry will just not visit or spend money in his fair state.

The problem with that approach is that the dems have a fillibuster-proof majority, since Franken was seated.

I don't think that I would put too much faith in that "super majority" BHO and crew are way overreaching and many of the blue dogs are feeling a lot of heat from their districts. People are screaming at their reps and I think many of these guys are starting to worry about their re-election chances. You will always have the wacko's on the far left that are pushing this stuff, but I think that many in the senate, and the house too are starting to realize that if they don't slow down, they WILL have a revolt on their hands, and they WILL be targeted.
BHO is pushing hard for socialism, and I think people are starting to see this guy heading for disaster. They are starting to distance themselves from him little by little. Hopefully enough do that to stall his agenda for the rest of his term.
I do wonder how BHO is going to react to being told no. I don't think the guy has ever been rejected before. Personally I am hoping for a complete meltdown. Let the world see this spoiled brat child for what he his. Ignorant and arrogant. Then let's throw him out in disgrace. Proving all of his faults and undo the damage that he has caused.
